treck - a long arduous journey, especially one made on foot

Do you want to go on a journey? There is an invitation to go!

God has a word for you

God has a word for you
There is provision and there are many amazing promises!
A Journey that will change everything, your present and future will never be the same!
Here are the promises that the Lord made Abram before Abram started his treck
Genesis 12:1–6 ESV
Now the Lord said to Abram, “Go from your country and your kindred and your father’s house to the land that I will show you. And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you and make your name great, so that you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and him who dishonors you I will curse, and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.” So Abram went, as the Lord had told him, and Lot went with him. Abram was seventy-five years old when he departed from Haran. And Abram took Sarai his wife, and Lot his brother’s son, and all their possessions that they had gathered, and the people that they had acquired in Haran, and they set out to go to the land of Canaan. When they came to the land of Canaan, Abram passed through the land to the place at Shechem, to the oak of Moreh. At that time the Canaanites were in the land.
Genesis 12:
God said He would:
Make you great
God would make Abram into a great nation - this was to happen through Abram not to Abram. His descendants would become a strong nation
Bless you
God would give Abram good fortune in everything
Make your name great
Every one would honor his name. His reputation and character would be known by all
You will Bless others
God’s intent with Abram was to bless him so much that in turn himself would be a source of blessing to others
Bless those who Bless you
The blessings would be so powerful over Abram’s life that those who looked upon Abram with favor would themselves be favored of the Lord
Curse those who curse you
Curse those who curse you
The blessing would be so powerful that anyone who opposed Abram and tried to oppose him would himself be cursed
All shall be blessed by you
The favor and blessing of God upon Abram would not be confined to his present or future family but would extend and influence the whole world.
Preparation for the treck
Leave your country, your kindred, your father’s house
The first preparation is be ready to leave all behind. you can’t go and stay at the same time.
Going means leaving behind. In this case, country which means this region. The place you are familiar with. You know how things work and the geography of the land. you will be sent to a place you do not know!
your kindred. The people you know. you have developed relationship with and know how they tick! you will be meeting new people you don’t know
your father’s house, The place you have been nurtured and grown up in. You feel safe and secure. the place of inheritance, you will inherit this house. God wanted to give Abram a new inheritance but for that to happen Abram needed to be ready to give up his current one.
Go to the land I will show you
There is huge element of faith that takes place at this point.
Abram is asked to let go of all the things he has control of and surrender to the leading of God in his life. Like peter who stepped out of the boat and walked on water, Abram was about to stark a treck of faith and allow God to be the one who guided him and who would take Him and His to the fulfillment of the promise.
