What is FAITH?

FAITH Belief in that which has no tangible proof; trust in God.

Definition of Faith In the OT and NT, “faith” carries several meanings.

It may mean simple trust in God or in the Word of God, and at other times faith almost becomes equivalent to active obedience.

It may also find expression in the affirmation of a creedal statement.

The Knowledge of God

Paul opens his letter to the Ephesians with a blessing that praises God for His plan of election and redemption

God’s 5 Point Plan (Eph 1:3-14)

1. blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places.

2. chose us in Him before the foundation of the world to be holy and blameless.

3. predestined us to adoption.

4. caused all wisdom and insight to abound in us.

5. sealed us the promised Holy Spirit.

32.32 σοφίαa, ας f: the capacity to understand and, as a result, to act wisely—‘to be prudent, wisdom.’

ἐν σοφίᾳ περιπατεῖτε πρὸς τοὺς ἔξω ‘act with wisdom toward those who are not believers’ Col 4:5.

28.38 ἀποκαλύπτω; ἀποκάλυψις, εως f: (figurative extensions of meaning of ἀποκαλύπτω and ἀποκάλυψις ‘to uncover, to take out of hiding,’ not occurring in the NT) to cause something to be fully known—‘to reveal, to disclose, to make fully known, revelation.’

28.18 ἐπίγνωσιςb, εως f: the content of what is definitely known—‘what is known, definite knowledge, full knowledge, knowledge.’

μαρτυρῶ γὰρ αὐτοῖς ὅτι ζῆλον θεοῦ ἔχουσιν, ἀλλ’ οὐ κατ’ ἐπίγνωσιν ‘for I can testify about them that they are zealous for God, but (their zeal is) not based on knowledge’ Ro 10:2.

Walking by Faith is a natural byproduct of the working of the Spirit of Wisdom and Revelation that brings us into a deep, personal, intimate Knowledge of Yahweh.
