The Problems
sexual immorality n. — sexual acts that are morally objectionable; especially related to prostitution.
Paul hears that there is engagement in sex.
But not all sex is bad.
It is a gift from God.
But this was outside the confines of marriage and also caused the actions of adultery to take place!
It would seem as though Paul is shocked that they are engaging in actions that not even the world would not do...
Paul then goes on to let them know that they have too much confidence in themselves, as though nothing was wrong.
He tells them that they should be feeling...

Paul calls them back to an OT passage.
He starts speaking about the process of making bread.

But we are to not mingle with folks who say they are Christians but are in reality heathens.
Paul says it is not his job to judge folks on the outside of the body.
He then asks them why are they not judging those within.
God will take care of those in the world living in sin.
But we CANNOT tolerate willful and unrepentant sin in the body!
Conclusion
God wants us to see here that the toleration of sin warps the body.
It causes both the individual sinner and the body to be lost.
We must take our responsibility as the body seriously and maintain a healthy body that does not ignore willful sin.
