Why rejoice when things are bad?
It does not quench the Spirit of God it fuels the Comforter and Encourages you.

A Crisis Does not Remove Christ As Your Savior.
Therefore rejoice for Christ and salvation through him.
Why rejoice when things are great?
Rejoice is having joy and is an attitude not an emotion.
Rejoicing when things are great is easier, however we may forget to rejoice because of the good times we have grown used too therefore complacency sets in and we grow thankless rather then thankful.
Give Thanks in All Circumstances
How do you give thanks in a crisis?
It is an attitude of thankfulness that must begin each and everyday.
Let me illustrate it with a note I found online.
An estimated 1.5 million people are living today after bouts with breast cancer.
Every time I forget to feel grateful to be among them, I hear the voice of an eight-year-old named Christina, who had cancer of the nervous system.
When asked what she wanted for her birthday, she thought long and hard and finally said, "I don't know.

Being a father and trying to teach my son how to be thankful for what he has and not what he doesn’t have is a battle.
To be thankful is to understand the blessings you have not what you do not have.
True thankfulness then is being grateful not wantful.

Do not quench= meaning extinguish faith
Do not despise = contempt for crisis or trails
Test everything = a procedure intended to establish the quality, performance, or reliability of something.

Hold fast to what is good = maintain an attitude of joy, thanksgiving.
Abstain from every form of evil = restrain from indulging in evil things.
Sin can make your think it’s okay to indulge yourself to receive comfort for your desires.
However, this is the trick it destroys your ability to be thankful, joyful, filled with gladness even in a crisis.
Therefore, do not indulge in sinful things in the moment for it robs you of having a thankful heart.

Completely = Totally
May you be kept blameless at the coming of Christ Jesus
Blameless = innocent of wrongdoing
Coming = the presence or arrival of Christ
He who calls you is faithful he will surly do it.
Faithful = remaining loyal and steadfast
