Introduction

Pneumatology.
Greek Word: Pneuma - Spirit, Breath, Wind.
Ology - the study of a particular subject .
Pneumatology - The Study of the Spirit, in this Case the Holy Spirit.
We also get our english word Pneumonia from here. Which is an infection in lungs which effects the breathing.
Pneumonia comes from the greek word pneumon which means lung. Pneumonia Where the air sacs in the lungs are filled with water and makes them useless for Breathing.
Latin Pulmo which means lung. - We get english word Pulmonary. We all know is a lung Doctor. Study of the Lungs.
The Holy Spirit is probably the most neglected Person of God.
Most people view the Holy Spirit as the power of God that he uses to fulfil his mission. Or the Power of God given to us. Many people view the Holy Spirit as an it, thing, or just some spirit. The fact is the bible teaches that the Holy Spirit is a person who has intellect, emotion, and will.
Many people view the Holy Spirit as an influence, like Jehovah Witness. They do not view that The Holy Spirit is a person. God consists of 3 persons, God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit. 3 Distinct persons but yet the same God. He can do what he wants. The Holy Spirit is as much as God as Jesus Christ was. There One God.
The Holy Spirit is a Person.

Intellect

1 Corinthians 2:10 ESV
10 these things God has revealed to us through the Spirit. For the Spirit searches everything, even the depths of God.
The word search means to investigate or examine a matter. The Holy Spirit has the ability to examine the depths of God and reveal them to believers.
Investigate fully. Lead a thorough investigation.
We are limited in our intelluct of the things of God.
The Holy Spirit examines or investigates searches thoroughly with all understanding the depths of God.
The Holy Spirit has the ability to reason, Investigate, think, examine everything.
This word search is used in as well .
John 5:39 ESV
39 You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; and it is they that bear witness about me,
Once again a deep intense searching of Scriptures in this case to understand eternal life but Christ later tells them that they missed it. Praise God, The Holy Spirit does not miss it. He searches and investigates the depths of God and he fully understands the things of God.
The Holy Spirit of God has

Knowledge

1 Corinthians 2:11 ESV
11 For who knows a person’s thoughts except the spirit of that person, which is in him? So also no one comprehends the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.
The Holy Spirit has the knowledge of the mind of God.

God reveals wisdom that saves through the Holy Spirit

Revelation

1 Corinthians 2:10–11 ESV
10 these things God has revealed to us through the Spirit. For the Spirit searches everything, even the depths of God. 11 For who knows a person’s thoughts except the spirit of that person, which is in him? So also no one comprehends the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.
Matthew 11:25 ESV
25 At that time Jesus declared, “I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you have hidden these things from the wise and understanding and revealed them to little children;
1 cor 2:

Inspiration

1 Corinthians 2:12–13 ESV
12 Now we have received not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might understand the things freely given us by God. 13 And we impart this in words not taught by human wisdom but taught by the Spirit, interpreting spiritual truths to those who are spiritual.
2 Timothy 3:16 ESV
16 All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness,
2 tim
2 Peter 1:20–21 ESV
20 knowing this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture comes from someone’s own interpretation. 21 For no prophecy was ever produced by the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.

Illumination

1 Corinthians 2:14–16 ESV
14 The natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned. 15 The spiritual person judges all things, but is himself to be judged by no one. 16 “For who has understood the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?” But we have the mind of Christ.
1 Corinthians 2:
