Reform Leaders Expectations

Our Purpose: To disciple teenagers to look more like Christ, who then disciple teenagers to look more like Christ.
First and foremost, in order to be a leader there needs to be a genuine love for teenagers evident in your life. I want to produce a welcoming atmosphere for our teenagers where they feel wanted. The leaders must lead by example and show the love of Christ to everyone who walks through our door.
Scripture has a way of transforming our lives and the way we think, and if we are honest with ourselves we do not do a good enough job of digging deeper into it.Leaders need to be continuously working on growing their walk with Christ on a daily basis and that includes digging into the word. We will be keeping each other accountable with this so be prepared to be transparent. I don’t want this to be something we just check off of our daily list, I want this to be something that will strengthen our daily walk with Christ.
We need to be in the word. We need to keep each other accountable in our readings and learn from each other and converse about what we are reading in scripture, this is how we grow personally. When we grow in that way o
We need to grow in our prayer life. Prayer is the engine that will run our ministry, if we don’t implement it into our own lives then how can we expect it to be at the core of our youth group? “If the power of God is water, then prayer is the spigot that releases it.” (Greg Stier, Gospelize your youth ministry pg. 83.)

Wednesday nights: Leaders need to be at church 30 mins- 1 hr early. The leaders are/will be assigned to 3 different teams of teens. The media and worship teams will be practicing from 6:30-7:15PM, welcome team needs to be at the church no later than 7:15PM- this is so the teens can be prepared to welcome newcomers and start service promptly at 7:30PM.
Schedules for Wednesday nights: Have the teens on your teams on a monthly rotating schedule. Make sure they get a copy of that schedule whether it be through group messaging or social media, they need to have a copy of it so they can be prepared and know what day they are scheduled on.

Events: Leaders are required to be at the church or venue 30-45 Minutes before to make sure we have everything in order and can take care of any last minute obstacles. In many cases, your time and assistance will be needed before events in order for planning and delegating of duties. If there is a scheduling issue that arises, bring this to my attention during our planning sessions so that we can plan/schedule accordingly.
Leader meetings: There will be monthly meetings to plan events, sermon series, discuss our prayer life, and quiet time that we have had. If you want to volunteer in Reform Student Ministries your presence is required at these meetings.
In conclusion, thank you for all you do for our students and the sacrifice you have made to minister to them. We know we could not run this ministry without you. You are truly appreciated!
