What you hear is more important than what I say
It’s not always the case that what the preachers says is what the people hear.
A preacher once preached an illustrated sermon where he took 4 little vials/containers....
One Filled with Alcohol
One filled with Cigarette smoke
One filled with Chocolate Syrup
One filled with Good dirt
When he got through with the sermon he checked on the containers and reported there are 3 dead and one alive.
Now what have you learned from this little example
Little lady in the back said, Pastor, as long as you drink, smoke and eat chocolate, you’ll never have worms.
So what we intend is not always what you hear....
That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. Brethren, I speak after the manner of men; Though it be but a man’s covenant, yet if it be confirmed, no man disannulleth, or addeth thereto.
Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
This scripture speaks of the death of Jesus on the cross.

A lot of people would be in trouble if asked what the blessing of Abraham entails.
Paul tells us that Jesus died so we could have it.
Part of our inheritance from God…as NT believers.
The background of the blessing of Abraham is really found in the OT in the book of Genesis chapter 14.
This chapter begins with a man by the name of Abram who was living in Ur of the Chaldeans a rocky and an unfruitful place.

He has now given his nephew Lot a chance to move on to the good life toward the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah.
Those were wild days when anyone who could amass a small group of people to follow him could establish himself as a king in his own right.
tells us the story of 5 kings, including the kings of Sodom and Gomorrah that went to battle against 4 other kings and the lesser number of kings in this battle defeated the greater number and took them into captivity.
Abram is hot about this because not only has he lost part of his family to Sodom and Gomorrah, but now they are in the captivity of 4 kings that has taken them and taken everything they’ve got from them.
So, Abram amasses 318 members of his own family and servants and he organizes a fighting force and he goes after these 4 kings that has taken his family away.
You need to stand up and fight for your family
We are living in perilous times
There are all kinds of forces that will come.
And the minority will sometimes try to take away the majority of God’s promises and blessings from our lives and our families.
So Abram goes to war and says I’m going to take back that that has been taken from me.
The Bible records that he overtook the 4 kings and he and his 318 warriors defeated and destroyed them. And as you know during war time, “To the victor goes the spoils of battle”.
Abram is now coming home loaded. He has sheep, oxen, cattle, gold, jewels, more servants than ever before. And on his way home God decides to intercept his world and pronounce a blessing on his life.
Sometimes there is a distance between the promises of God and the blessings of God.
Fear not, if God has made a promise of blessing, God knows the perfect time....
So, God did something kinda drastic and special for Abram.
As he’s coming back with the spoils of the victory of his battle, there is a man who steps out in the middle of the road to meet him.
Melchezidek - “A priest of God Almighty”
(there are many who believe that Melchezidek he was actually a theophany of God himself that appeared to Abram in the OT)
Our God has the ability to do whatever He wants to when He wants to.
God has the ability to intercept us at.....
Heb 7: Jesus is our hight priest after the order of Melchizedek without the end or beginning of days.
God is revealing to Abraham that his blessing is about to come.

He had grown up in a culture that worshipped a multiplicity of God.
The first thing in the Blessing of Abram that Christ died for us to have is “Who God truly is”.
Involves Elevation in your life
There is no God like our God
He never leaves you where He finds you
He always lifts you to a higher place!
If it doesn’t change your life there is either something wrong with your relationship or your understanding of God.
He can fix what is wrong in our lives
God is turning my mess into my message!
God can maximize your abilities, talents
Things can start looking up in your marriage....
Has a magnetism that lifts you up when you look up to Him!
He will visit you in your lowness

We’ve become renters instead of owners....

Drug it up to a place called Jabeth, where they had all the trophies of the heads of the kings that they had defeated.
“You see this big head?” You don’t have any trophies like this.
I just brought this up to let you have a reminder that i’ll be back
I’m going to take Jabeth and turn it into Jerusalem, which shall be the city of the God Most High
I want to give hope to someone today!
