Colossians 3:25

“But he that doeth wrong shall receive for the wrong which he hath done: and there is no respect of persons.”

ο δε αδικων = but he that is unjust

I.          THE SCRIPTURE IS NOT BIASED, IT EXTENDS TO EVERYONE, SAVED OR UNSAVED.

Christians are quick to point out the judgment of non-believers, but almost completely negligent to the Bema Seat of Christ.

            A. Christians are not judged according to the validity of their works, but the quality of them.

            B. Non-believers are judged according to the validity and the quality of their works.

II.         JUDGMENT IS A FEARFUL THING TO MOTIVATE TO RIGHTEOUSNESS.

            A. The absence of judgment leads to license.

            B. Judgment is present and future.

                        1. Present – Gal. 6:7

                        2. Future – 2 Cor. 5:10

            C. judgment of self – preferred correction. 1 Cor. 11:31

To what degree if any man cab avoid judgment at the Bema seat is yet to be fully comprehended!

            D. Judgment is not merely an absence of reward.

                        1. The parallel verse in Eph.6:8 discloses reciprocation of good.

                        2. Here, we see reciprocation for unjustness. (Comp. to 2 Cor. 5:10; Rom. 14:10)

III.       JUDGMENT IS OF THE NATURE & CHARACTER OF GOD.

            A. God reveals Himself as a loving God.  (Exodus 34:6-7)

            B. God reveals Himself as a god of equity & judgment.  (Hosea 11:8)
