Every single one of us is unique.
We are all different, and yet we have more in common than we are different.
Truth is there is no one like you.
Same is true for churches.
There is no church like RBBC
We have a common mission, but how we carry that out is unique.
It changes from us to the church down the road.
It changes from time to time in the same church.
We have a responsibility to play our part and our special role in our community and around the world.
We need to understand that we don’t “do” church, we “are” the church.
We are to live “on mission” for the Lord.
We can’t compartmentalize our living into sections.
We Must Live Led By the Spirit
Walking in step with His Will for each of our lives.
I often pray “ order our steps according to your word.”
We don’t just represent the Lord here when we meet together, or when we go out to do something like a “Bash,”
We always are his representatives, His ambassadors.
the GO of the Great Commission can be seen “as you are going”
What’s the difference in
Good Intentions or Intentional?
Good intentions plans to do… plans to give… plans to hand out an invite.... plans to talk to someone who needs the Lord.
Intentional puts following Christ at the foundation of all we do.
Intentional looks for where God is at work and jumps in.
Intentional wants to point people to Christ the same way Christ led people to follow Him.
Jesus Was About People
Familiar story but let’s note some things about this.
Jericho was a significant city.
Zacchaeus was an unlikely candidate.
There are people all around you that might seem like poor candidates for the Lord, but you don’t know what God may be up to.
God was at work in his heart.
He needed help “seeing” Jesus.
Jesus was willing to touch his life.
The self-righteous crowd turned their noses up.
Evidence was seen of an immediately changed life.
The SON of MAN came to seek and to save the lost.
Be a Tree
Next Sunday is “Back to Church” Sunday.
This is your chance to be the sycamore tree and help someone see Jesus.
Who can you be a tree to this week?
Who is already on your heart that needs to know the transforming grace and power of Jesus?
Who is your Zac?
Don’t forget these invites and bracelets...
Good intentions will get one.
being intentional will put one in Zac’s hand this week.
