WEO & Pastor Solomon
Sin entered this world through Adam
Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all people, because all sinned—
racism is not of Christ
hatred is not of Christ (God hates fags!)
Adam, and Jesus Christ
Adam, and Jesus Christ
Paul presents Jesus Christ as both the last Adam, succeeding where the first Adam failed, and the second man, standing at the head of a new humanity.

Nevertheless, death reigned from the time of Adam to the time of Moses, even over those who did not sin by breaking a command, as did Adam, who is a pattern of the one to come.

By his sin Adam brought universal misery on humanity. In this he is the foreshadower and prototype of Jesus Christ, who through his righteous act brings the universal hope of redemption.

Adam was a living being
Adam was a living being
Adam was a living being; Jesus Christ is a life-giving being.
Adam was a living being; Jesus Christ is a life-giving being.
So it is written: “The first man Adam became a living being”; the last Adam, a life-giving spirit.
So it is written: “The first man Adam became a living being”; the last Adam, a life-giving spirit.
The first Adam was physical. (The last Adam is spiritual.)
We can see that this is not something that Paul cooked up himself. “So it is written” means he is pointing at scripture.
We know that this is not something that Paul thought up himself. He is talking about what scripture says.
The first Adam passed on his (sinful) nature to those who came after. That includes you and I.
The first Adam passed on his (sinful) nature to those who came after.
Adam was natural
Adam was natural
Christ’s characteristic is that he is a life-giving spirit.
Through Adam sin entered the world and sin leads to death. Christ entered the world to give us the opportunity for Him to take away our sins and give life.
The spiritual did not come first, but the natural, and after that the spiritual.
Adam was Natural, Jesus Christ is Spiritual
Adam was Natural, Jesus Christ is Spiritual
We enter natural life first; it is only after that we may enter into the spiritual.
The spiritual did not come first, but the natural, and after that the spiritual.
Adam was earthly
Adam was earthly
1 Corinthians
The first man was of the dust of the earth; the second man is of heaven.
We enter natural life first; it is only after that that we may enter into the spiritual.
The first man, Adam, was made of dust. Literally made from the earth.
Adam was earthly, Jesus Christ is heavenly
Adam was earthly, Jesus Christ is heavenly
The first man was of the dust of the earth; the second man is of heaven.
The first man is Adam and Adam was made of dust. The second man is Christ.
Though Christ appeared on earth, lived, died and rose again on earth, He is not to be thought of as coming from the earth, as Adam did.
Next week: The contrast in the consequences of the actions of the first Adam and the second Adam
Hint: Adam = death / Jesus = life
