The Power of Submission

1 Peter 3:1–7 NKJV
Wives, likewise, be submissive to your own husbands, that even if some do not obey the word, they, without a word, may be won by the conduct of their wives, when they observe your chaste conduct accompanied by fear. Do not let your adornment be merely outward—arranging the hair, wearing gold, or putting on fine apparel—rather let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God. For in this manner, in former times, the holy women who trusted in God also adorned themselves, being submissive to their own husbands, as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord, whose daughters you are if you do good and are not afraid with any terror. Husbands, likewise, dwell with them with understanding, giving honor to the wife, as to the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life, that your prayers may not be hindered.
1 Peter 3:1-7
1 Peter 5:5–7 NKJV
Likewise you younger people, submit yourselves to your elders. Yes, all of you be submissive to one another, and be clothed with humility, for “God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble.” Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.

The Word Submission

sub•mis•sion \səb-ˈmi-shən\ noun

[Middle English, from Anglo-French, from Latin submission-, submissio act of lowering, from submittere] 14th century

1 a: a legal agreement to submit to the decision of arbitrators

b: an act of submitting something (as for consideration or inspection) also: something submitted (as a manuscript)

2: the condition of being submissive, humble, or compliant

3: an act of submitting to the authority or control of another

In the Greek it is Hypotasso - to subject, to subordinate, attach, apppend, subjoin, to obey, to submit to, obedience, place or arrange under, assign, interior, being under firm control, to subdue, explore, search out
So if I submit to you then that means I am willing to come under you!
If I come under you that means you Got me Covered!
Man shout to your woman I got you covered!!!
I was reading a blog in my research called “Tea in the Shade” written by Shadee Nee and she was sharing her experiences about relationships she has had with men. She shared her flaws in picking the wrong men.
She shared that she is not going to submit to a man who cannot provide for her. He doesn’t have to match her income but he has to be about his business also. He has get off XBOX & Playstation. Have his own car and be able to be intimate and then she might become submissive. She shared how can I submit to you when your on the bus and I am driving downtown to work. I’m not going to give you my car. She shared instead of being Blac Chyna to Rob Kardashian she is going to be Yvette to his Jody. If I putting all my time, effort, money, in getting you off of your feet guess who the leader in this equation.
What she asks is this question if I am covering him he should submit to me instead of me submitting to him!
Just because your Independent you still need someone to cover you!!! don’t confuse provision with protection.
That ‘s why submission requires Sacrifice
Yes you may have it together my Sister but if God put you together don’t tare it apart, by getting from under your cover!!
It is when you sacrifice that God unlocks deep intimacy in marriage.
I’m not telling you to loose your intellilect, or to bargain of your brain, I’m saying sometimes you have to acquesit so that God will get the Glory from your marriage.
Let me put another way I was in military and we had to flow the order of the person who out ranked us in other words we were under them. You could disobey an unlawful order because anything unlawful was considered criminal. You role as service member is to uphold the constitiution and the laws. You still had the right to do what was right when someone told you do something that you knew was wrong.
In your submission you can either build it up or you can tear it down
Proverbs 14:1 NKJV
The wise woman builds her house, But the foolish pulls it down with her hands.
The strongest man who ever lived (Samson), the wisest man who ever lived (Solomon), and one of the godliest men who ever lived (David) were all compromised by the power of women.
Weak Women are not God’s Design! God needs a strong woman with a strong man! because everyone gets weak and the Strong bear the infemeties of the weak.
is there is a story about a husband and a wife who lied to the Pastor Peter about the land that they sold Ananias and Sapphira. He lied and then he died. however an hour later she lied and she died. Why because she was complicit with her husband’s sin. She agreed with his sin. sometimes you got to stand up and speak up to get the covering straight.
Submission is empowering, not enabling. A wife who refuses to use her power is just as destructive as a wife who dominates with her power. They both are distortions of God’s design for marriage.
Margo Kaufman said “ the only thing worse than a man you can’t control is a man you can.” You will never feel satisfied being married to a weak man. True intimacy that comes from a powerful woman building into the confidence of her man.
Submission requires Trust
We Trust God but do we!
