1 Corinthians 14:8 (NKJV) /“//For if the trumpet makes an uncertain sound, who will prepare for battle?”/

I.

Listen

A.               We’ve not been listening

1.          Listen is more than hear

2.          Listen means, “to pay attention; to hear something with thoughtful attention; to give careful consideration.”

II.

Be a Voice

A.               John 1:23 (NKJV)/“He said, ‘I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness: make straight the way of the Lord,’ as the prophet Isaiah said.”/

B.                Matthew 10:27 (NKJV) /“Whatever I tell you in the dark, speak in the light; and what you hear in the ear, preach on the housetops.”/

III.

Speak the truth with authority and boldness

A.               Luke 4:32 (NKJV) /“//And they were astonished at His teaching, for His word was with authority.”/

B.                Acts 4:13-31 Boldness of Peter and John and the Church’s prayer for boldness

 

IV.

Lay Foundations

A.               We need an unshakable faith in a shakable world

1.          Natural disasters

2.          War

3.          Personal crisis

4.          False doctrines

5.          Winds of doctrines

6.          Philosophies

7.          Persecution

B.                Matthew 7:24-27 (NKJV) /“Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: 25 and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock.

26 But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: 27 and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell.

And great was its fall.”/

C.               Hebrews 12:25-29 (NKJV) /“//See that you do not refuse Him who speaks.

For if they did not escape who refused Him who spoke on earth, much more shall we not escape if we turn away from Him who speaks from heaven, 26 whose voice then shook the earth; but now He has promised, saying, ‘Yet once more I shake not only the earth, but also heaven.’

27 Now this, ‘Yet once more,’ indicates the removal of those things that are being shaken, as of things that are made, that the things which cannot be shaken may remain.

28 Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear.

29 For our God is a consuming fire.”/

V.

Prepare this generation for war

A.               We are in a war over worship:  the right to worship, how to worship, and who to worship.

B.                Matthew 11:12 (NKJV) /“And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force.”/

C.               This generation wants peace at any price

1.          Dave Roever:  “I hate war.

But I love freedom more than I hate war.”

2.          Personally I hear: “I hate division.

But I love truth more than I hate division.”

3.          Ecclesiastes 3:8 (NKJV) /“A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.”/

4.          Martin Luther: /“If I profess with the loudest voice and clearest exposition every portion of the truth of God except precisely that little point which the world and the devil are at the moment attacking, I am not confessing Christ, however boldly I may be professing Christ.

Where the battle rages, there the loyalty of the soldier is proved and to be steadfast on all the battle fronts besides is mere flight and disgrace if he flinches at that point.”/

5.          Romans 12:18 (NKJV) /“//If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men.”/

D.               This generation is not prepared for war

1.

They have not learned how to war

2.          They are not equipped for war

3.          They are unwilling to live like soldiers

4.          They do not know how to sacrifice to war

5.

They can’t endure the casualties of war

6.

They don’t have the endurance to win a protracted war

a               We don’t seem to mind short battles.

But we run from wars.

E.                Someone has to sound the alarm!
