Time to Dream Again

Pastor Keith Hassell

 

 

Foundation Scripture:   Genesis 15:1-6

 

I.       Promise (v. 1)

          A.      Do not be afraid

1.       Fear keeps us in bondage and robs us of faith

          B.      I am your shield

1.       God is our protection

                   2.       Abraham had just come out of battle against four kings

          C.      I am your exceeding great reward

                   1.       God is our reward.  All else comes from His hand.

2.       Basically God was saying, “I am your reward.  In Me is everything that you need.”

 

II.      Problem (v. 2-3)

          A.      Abram had no heir

          B.      Abraham and Sarah were beyond childbearing years

          C.      Abram blames God:  “You have given me no offspring.”

D.      What are the obstacles before you?

          E.      Are you caught up in the impossibility before you?

          F.      What is “dead” in your life?

          G.      God cannot act when there is negativity

 

III.    Possibility (v. 4-5)

A.      God addressed the impossibility with His possibility: “One from your own body shall be your heir.”

B.      With God all things are possible.

C.      God brought Abram out of his natural sight into the realm of vision

D.      Vision is the language of the Holy Spirit

E.      God gave Abram a vision of multitudes rather than one

F.      God want to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we can ask or think

         

IV.     Possession (v. 6)

          A.      Abram believed God and it was accounted to him as righteousness.

          B.      Abram possessed the vision by faith
