Exodus 12:29–32 ESV
At midnight the Lord struck down all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh who sat on his throne to the firstborn of the captive who was in the dungeon, and all the firstborn of the livestock. And Pharaoh rose up in the night, he and all his servants and all the Egyptians. And there was a great cry in Egypt, for there was not a house where someone was not dead. Then he summoned Moses and Aaron by night and said, “Up, go out from among my people, both you and the people of Israel; and go, serve the Lord, as you have said. Take your flocks and your herds, as you have said, and be gone, and bless me also!”
Could you imagine:
Over 400 years of oppression
Over 400 years of slavery
Over 400 years of pain
Over 400 years of suffering
Over 400 years of torture
Over 400 years of hard labor
Could you imagine being under a hard task master / Pharaoh
Over 400 years of being told what to do
Over 400 years of being controlled by a master
Beaten
Stripped of dignity
Could you imagine?
Exodus 3:7–10 ESV
Then the Lord said, “I have surely seen the affliction of my people who are in Egypt and have heard their cry because of their taskmasters. I know their sufferings, and I have come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians and to bring them up out of that land to a good and broad land, a land flowing with milk and honey, to the place of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Amorites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites. And now, behold, the cry of the people of Israel has come to me, and I have also seen the oppression with which the Egyptians oppress them. Come, I will send you to Pharaoh that you may bring my people, the children of Israel, out of Egypt.”
God’s master plan!!!
“I have surely seen the affliction of my people who are in Egypt and haver heard their cry because of their taskmasters.”
I’m so glad he seen my affliction...
He seen my condition...
He seen it while I was in Egypt
Not only did he see my affliction
He heard my cry…
When I did things that just didn’t feel right but you just couldn’t stop doing it…
God had a plan… He tells Moses
“Come, I will send you to Pharaoh that you may bring my people, the children of Israel, out of Egypt.”
Exodus 3:19–20 ESV
But I know that the king of Egypt will not let you go unless compelled by a mighty hand. So I will stretch out my hand and strike Egypt with all the wonders that I will do in it; after that he will let you go.
God sends 9 plagues
Water turned into blood
plague of frogs
Gnats
Flies
All the Egyptian livestock (Farm animals)
Boils
Hail
Locusts
Darkness (For 3 days)
Final Plague - Death of the first born
“And there was a great cry in Egypt, for there was not a house where someone was not dead. Then he summoned Moses and Aaron by night and said, “Up, go out from among my people, both you and the people of Israel; and go, serve the Lord, as you have said. Take your flocks and your herds, as you have said, and be gone, and bless me also!”

This all happened at midnight - Midnight brought a new day
But Isreal was only free after the last plague
“At midnight the Lord struck down all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh who sat on his throne to the firstborn of the captive who was in the dungeon, and all the firstborn of the livestock.”
The Lord struck down all the firstborn in the land of Egypt
Isreal’s freedom only came with the firstborn died!!!!
My deliverance came at Midnight -
I once was in slavery....... Pharoah was my master (Satan) Egypt or Sin was my place
But my deliverance came the moment the firstborn died....
John 3:16 ESV
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
