Introduction

What does it take for you to let go of something? My first thought when i hear that question is well it depends on the situation, imagine with me for a second a few senarioes.
Being alone in the ocean after a ship wreck holding on to a life raft, what would cause you to let go of it?
You recieved a trophy after achieving victory in a sporting contest, what would cause you to give it up?
After a long journey through the desert and your running out of water and your mouth is dry and parched what would cause you to give up your last bit of water?
Hard pressed on all sides, constantly kicked out of your home, removed from your place of work, removed from your home town, all because you believe in Jesus, would this cause you to give up Jesus?
There was a small city, located on the board of a country, on the other side of the board the open arid wilderness ranged for miles. This town was plagued by all sorts of issues, placed on a dangerous part of the earths crust earth quakes were common and so the people of this small city were forced to evacuate their homes and run into the hills behind their city, only to find when they returned their homes had been ransaked by looters or destroyed by the earthquake.
Living on a frounteer the people also didnt have good access to the needed supplies and recources to build new homes and so would be forced after this kind of destruction to pack up and leave.
On the other side of the board in the wilderness were raiders and hostile tribes of people, who would attacked the small city when it had the chance making living in the city even more dangerous.
To make matters worse the people who ran the city hated Christians. They would constantly cause problems for them in business, in worship, in everything they could. Putting pressure on them to give up the name of Jesus.
This is the life of the Church in Philadelphia.

Jesus is holy and true, the door master

Jesus knows about his people

Jesus will make those who stand against him kneel

Jesus will make those who stand with him pillars of faith
