LUCIFER DESIRED TO CLOTH HIMSELF WITH THE GLORY THAT BELONGS TO THE CREATOR ALONE.

WE SUMMED UP THE SIN OF SATAN IN ONE WORD “PRIDE”

SATAN DESIRES IS TO BECOME INDEPENDENT OF ALL EXTERNAL AUTHORITY.

IF HE IS TO EXERCISE THE POWER AND AUTHORITY OF GOD THEN HE MUST TAKE OVER GOD’S CONTROL OVER ALL CREATED THINGS AND EXERCISE THAT CONTROL INTO EVERY REALM.

WE WILL FIRST CONSIDER SATAN’S DESIRE TO RULE IN THE ANGELIC REALM

BECAUSE WE HAVE NEVER SEEN AN ANGEL, WE KNOW LITTLE ABOUT THEIR NATURE, ABOUT THEIR ACTIVITY, ABOUT THEIR MODE OF EXISTENCE OR, ABOUT THEIR PURPOSE.

THE WORD OF GOD GIVES US A VERY CLEAR REVELATION CONCERNING THE ANGELIC REALM AND BEFORE WE CAN UNDERSTAND SATAN WE MUST UNDERSTAND SOME ESSENTIAL FACTS ABOUT ANGELS.

IN THIS MATERIALISTIC WORLD WE EVALUATE SOMETHING BY ITS WEIGHT, SIZE, AND SHAPE.

THE WORD OF GOD TEACHES US THAT WHEN GOD BEGAN HIS WORK OF CREATION THAT HE BEGAN NOT IN THE PHYSICAL REALM BUT IN THE ANGELIC REAL.

IN SCRIPTURE ANGELS ARE VIEWED AS BEINGS WHO POSSESS THE CAPACITY OF PERSONALITY, INTELLECT, EMOTION, AND WILL, AND ARE UNDERSTOOD AS INDIVIDUAL BEINGS WITH THEIR OWN SEPARATE IDENTITY AND EXISTENCE.

ANGELS WERE CREATED TO MINISTER

Are they not all ministering spirits,

THEY ARE TO MINISTER TO THE HEIRS OF SALVATION

ANGELS WERE CREATED TO ADMINISTER THE WILL OF GOD ON EARTH AND ARE OFTEN INSTRUMENTS OF DIVINE JUDGMENT.

ANGELS WERE NOT CREATED TO ORIGINATE A PLAN BUT RATHER TO EXECUTE GOD’S PLAN.

ANGELS DO NOT KNOW EVERYTHING

no, not the angels of heaven,

ANGELS DO NOT DIE NOR REPRODUCE

but are as the angels of God in heaven.

SPIRITUAL BODIES

39 All flesh is not the same flesh: but there is one kind of flesh of men, another flesh of beasts, another of fishes, and another of birds.

There are also celestial bodies,

41 There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars: for one star differeth from another star in glory.

WHEN LUCIFER REBELLED AGAINST GOD BEFORE HE COULD MOVE GOD FROM HIS THRONE AND RULE AS SOVEREIGN IN THE UNIVERSE IT WAS NECESSARY FOR HIM TO BRING ANGELIC CREATION UNDER HIS AUTHORITY AND CONTROL

A CIVIL WAR BROKE OUT IN HEAVEN

9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

ONE THIRD OF THE ANGELS OF HEAVEN SIDED WITH LUCIFER AND FELL

And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth:

first estate, but left their own habitation,

ESTATE – SOCIAL RANK, POWERS, ORDER, CONDITION

HABITATION – THEIR DWELLING PLACE IN THE 2ND HEAVEN

IN PRIDE THEY BECAME DISCONTENT AND ATTEMPTED A REVOLUTION

KEPT IN CHAINS OF DARKNESS (NOT LITERAL) BUT SPIRITUAL BONDAGE WITH NO HOPE OF BEING SAVED, NO LIGHT, NO REPENTANCE OFFERED, NO BETTER DAY COMING, NOTHING BUT WALKING IN GLOOM AND DOOM CHAINED TO THE KNOWLEDGE THAT HELL AWAITS THEM

prepared for the devil and his angels:

THOSE WHO FOLLOWED SATAN IN HIS REBELLION WE REFER TO AS DEMONS

THEY ARE SIMPLY FALLEN ANGELS WITH ALL THE POWER AND WISDOM THEY HAD BEFORE THE FALL.

AND THEY OPPOSE ALL THAT IS GOOD AND HOLY.
