When I first met Mikaela she was a tiny little ball of fat rolls and she took it upon herself to displaced me, So selfish.

At first she was an intriguing little thing but after a while she became somewhat of an annoyance.

But that was later.

At first we had great fun, we would do all sorts of things together like stuff our faces full of grapes and try to talk through them like this…….

While Justin and Mikaela were stuffing their faces with grapes like barbarians, I was sitting alone… always alone.

But I was civilized, ripping my illegal barbed hooks mercilessly from the mouths of the fish that I caught….

And while he was doing that, my great companion of a sister was slowly becoming that annoyance that I mentioned earlier.

(pesky pesky pesky - jonathan) I would push all her buttons and if there were no more to push I’d make a new one.

One time we were arguing, I think over who a certain hotwheels car belonged to and it got so heated Dad came downstairs and told us to fight it out in the other room.

When he came down to check on us we were doing just that… literally…

And while he was doing that, my great companion of a sister was slowly becoming that annoyance that I mentioned earlier.

Wait a minute, no it’s not… Mikaela thought it was great that she had her very own real life mannequin to try dressing in all her different outfits that included a variety of princess paraphernalia not limited to makeup, nail polish, tiaras, high heels and maybe some sparkles and hair curlers to top it off...

Though I do admit one time she dressed me up so convincingly that we decided, or shall I say she forced upon me the idea that we sneak into mom’s drawer and steal a bra for me to wear… I was like 8 don’t judge.... Needless to say she was rather manipulative…..

Sooo most people say they are full and they are actually, well, full… our beautiful sister however is a bit, hmm how should I put it?

Decision handicapped.

This one time at dinner she said, “I am soooo full”.

Moments later she proceeded to peer over the edge of the pot of mashed potatoes and then began to eat it straight out of the pot with a spoon… who does that?

Also, who eats salad with their fingers?

Imagine taking a single noodle of spaghetti out of the pot and dangling it over your mouth and slowly lowering it to it’s doom.

Now replace that noodle with a piece of lettuce from a salad bowl.

This is one of Mikaela’s favorite ways to get a head start at dinner time.

Not to mention her appetite for ancients candy.

Our dear sibling used to save all of the candy she would get at birthdays and on holidays, saving it in a shoebox under her bed… if you ever needed gum she was your girl, it was very handy for us as young lads but the white flaky chocolate bars were really gross.

She’ll tell you that she kept this box in her closet but it was definitely stored under her bed for a while.

When Mikaela first got her license, the apparently confusing road signs got the best of her on occasion… and sometimes she just neglected to look at them at all, on one occasion this lead to her turning left through an intersection and one way oncoming traffic… inspiring

Though we enjoy very much, telling you all about our sisters quirky ways, we’d like to share with you a few memories that have stuck with us through the years...

When Mikaela first got her license, the apparently confusing road signs got the best of her on occasion… and sometimes she just neglected to look at them at all, on one occasion this lead to her turning left through an intersection and one way oncoming traffic…

She also happened to have a lead foot…well, really she still does, but I remember when she drove my car for the first time.

She hadn’t driven standard before so when she got in I gave her the “how to get out of first gear crash course everyone experiences driving standard for the first time.”

It went something like rev the engine up to about 1500 rpm’s and slowly let the clutch out… she then proceeded to rev to about 35-4000 rpms and was about to let the clutch out when I realized what she was doing… she was trying to do a burnout in my baby!!!

All jabs and jokes aside, Mikaela has been the most amazing sister we could have ever asked for, she’s goofy, helpful and always willing to act like a bro when the setting requires it… We will miss you around the house and on regular occasions when you won’t be around anymore, and we will miss having you to talk to when we need that someone who will listen without judgement or impatience.

Mikaela’s capacity for love is boundless as Jonathan and I have experienced it first hand and now Jon has found out as well.

She truly cares for everyone that she meets and it shows in her actions and the way that she talks to her friends and family.

Who would have thought that Mikaela would marry one of her youth leaders.

That crazy ADD guy who doesn’t like his food to touch… He’s a good catch Mikaela.

We love you both and know that through whatever life throws at you, your love for each other and God will overcome it all.

Take This to heart as you guys start the rest of your lives together… “And those who know your name put their trust in you, for you, O Lord, have not forsaken those who seek you.”
