G-Biology 101: Body Parts
Since I work in the NSW Health.
I need to have a little bit of knowledge about human anatomy.
How many organs are there in the human body?
According to the well known and most genius researcher in the world at the moment, Professor Doctor Google.com:
There are approximately 78 organs, they are:
Adrenal Glands Anus Appendix Bladder Bones Brain Bronchi Ears Esophagus Eyes Gall Bladder Genitals Heart Hypothalamus Kidneys Large Intestine Larynx (voice box)Liver Lungs Lymph Nodes Mouth Nose Pancreas Parathyroid Glands Pituitary Gland Prostate Rectum Salivary Glands Skeletal Muscles Skin Small Intestine Spinal Cord Spleen Stomach Thymus Gland Trachea Thyroid Ureters Urethra.
Ureters Urethrauth Nose Pancreas Parathyroid Glands Pituitary Gland Prostate Rectum Salivary Glands Skeletal Muscles Skin Small Intestine Spinal Cord Spleen Stomach Thymus Gland Trachea Thyroid
Another fundamental facts that we need to know about our body organs is:
UretersUrethra
Different organs work together to perform a common function, like how the parts of your digestive system break down food.
We refer these integrated units a organ systems.
Groups of organ systems work together to make complete, functional organisms, like us!
There are 11 major organ systems in the human body, which include the circulatory, respiratory, digestive, excretory, nervous and endocrine systems.
The immune, integumentary, skeletal, muscle and reproductive systems are also part of the human body.

Not only organs, but 1 body we have 600 muscles, number of blood cells enough to circle the Earth twice, 40000 chemical enzymes, millions of neurons, billions of interconnections among them, and many other parts which haven’t yet been discovered or named.
In summary, even though we have so many different body parts, organs, cells in our body, they all work together to make a complete, functional human body.
When humans do not have a certain body part or they do not function properly, we are disabled or abnormal.
All of the body parts, big or small, visible or not visible are equally important.
They all have carry out their functions properly in order for the body to work and grow.

2.
Now our topic is about relationships and unity, why am I talking about body parts and their functions?
Because the Bible told us that we, followers and disciples of Christ, are like parts of the human body.
We form one body of Christ.
3.
Our main passage today is
YOU ARE AN IMPORTANT PART OF THE BODY
Clearly we need to realise that we are all one body of Christ.
And you and I, are parts of the body.
4.
Maybe we should start addressing each other as body parts.
Joke
that
You are an important part of the body of Christ.
So we are all different body parts.
And each of us, are an important part of the body of Christ.
Tell the people next to you, you are an important part of the body of Christ.
A lot of the times satan makes us think that we are not important in our church or community.
He made us think that we are not important because we are not like someone else, we cannot do what that person does.
And when we think we are not important, we stop functioning properly, we stop doing things that God has called us to do.
We become a passive body parts, we stop exploring and expanding our potentials.
And this is very dangerous, this kind incorrect self image, will reflect in our daily life, and will stop you from fulfilling your calling.
5.
Verse 15: Now if the foot should say, “Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body,” it would not for that reason stop being part of the body.
And if the ear should say, “Because I am not an eye, I do not belong to the body,” it would not for that reason stop being part of the body.
If the whole body were an eye, where would the sense of hearing be?
If the whole body were an ear, where would the sense of smell be?
Do you know which finger of your hand gives you the most power for your hand?
Pinky and ring finger.
Without pinky, you lose 50% of your hand power.
See, sometimes we think that someone is more important than us because they look greater, smarter, quicker, better at managing time than us.
And I am just a clown that doesn’t know how to be serious.
But the reality is, you could be the joints that stick the bones and muscles together.
Your community will lose 50% of their potential without you.
We all have our own strengths and weaknesses, we are unique in our own ways.
And there is a purpose for all of that and we need to acknowledge that from God’s eyes.
This is especially important for leaders to know.
Because sometimes we forget that our role as leaders is to guide and encourage people, not force.
Because most of the time we try to make people to think like us, do things the way that we do.
Because we are experienced and so good at it.
I am preaching to myself here.
But Hey, we need to know, when God anoints someone, this person will rise and
Verse 18: But in fact God has placed the parts in the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be.
So God is the one who placed us where He wants us to be.
And when He has sent and placed us somewhere, we are very important and He will equip and enable us to accomplish His mission.
Our role is to obey Him, know our function, and listen to His instructions at all time.
2. KNOW YOUR FUNCTION AND LISTEN TO HIS INSTRUCTIONS
How do we know our functions??
The last verse says “All these are empowered by one and the same Spirit, who apportions to each one individually as He wills”.
So our functions do not depend on us, it depends on God who apportions to each one of us.
There’s nothing that we can do to earn it.
Your gifts and functions will be revealed to you by God and the Holy Spirit.
You just have to pray and have faith.
This is the key.
Moses
And then in verse 33 it was said that By faith that these people conquered kingdoms...
It will be revealed to you.
Have faith.
Heb 11:33-34
When these people have faith, God revealed to them their functions and what they need to do.
Once we know our function as a body, then we need to keep paying attention to instructions from the head.
Ephenisans 4:15-16 tells us that Christ is the head.
From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.
It’s the same with our body when we perform something?
Through brain signals.
We move our hand because the brain in our head sends a signal for the hand to move.
When they are in sync, everything works great and our body is functioning properly.
But imagine if your body parts have their own brains.
They are all doing different things and they are not listening to what the brain is telling.
How catastrophic that would be?
How can you carry out your function when you are not listening to the head?
But the good God has given a clear instruction and manual for us to follow.
Through the Holy Spirit and the Holy Scripture.
This is our main reference.
Our main user manual to become an effective and impactful arms and feet of Christ.
