How’s everybody doing tonight?
Good.
So, before we get started let us PRAY
Tonight’s message is titled, “God’s Questions and Answer for Humanity”
As you will see throughout the lesson tonight salvation is structured like our scripture (God does all the work).
Our scripture reading will be from & .
So, lets read our scripture then I am going to present you two questions and an answer.
, “But the Lord God called to the man and said to him, “Where are you?” 10 And he said, “I heard the sound of you in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked, and I hid myself.”
11 He said, “Who told you that you were naked?
Have you eaten of the tree of which I commanded you not to eat?” 12 The man said, “The woman whom you gave to be with me, she gave me fruit of the tree, and I ate.”
, “For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.”
But the Lord God called to the man and said to him, “Where are you?” 10 And he said, “I heard the sound of you in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked, and I hid myself.”
11 He said, “Who told you that you were naked?
Have you eaten of the tree of which I commanded you not to eat?” 12 The man said, “The woman whom you gave to be with me, she gave me fruit of the tree, and I ate.”
The two questions and answer are...
For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.”
1.
Where are you?
2. Did you listen?
3. Be assured, I came to save you .
The first question we are presented with is directly from , “But the Lord God called to the man and said to him, “Where are you?”
Yes… this question is geared directly towards Adam, which is a key principle for us men in modern society.
The world depends on us more-so than what the feminist movement wants to admit.
Not dependence in a boastful manner, but in a SPIRITUAL MANNER and some other aspects.
But, what I want to point out in this question is, “GOD REACHED OUT TO SINFUL HUMANITY.
This becomes the theme of the remaining part of the Bible.
You see the story we read tonight is called the story of, “Original Sin,” which is what bound humanity to death; however, as we seen in , Jesus the Son of God and God himself () died to give us an opportunity to be saved from eternal death, which is separation from God.
So, you might be thinking I don’t believe all this original sin business, where Adam and Eve eat the fruit, which was ultimate disobedience and from that ALL humanity is bound to death.
Well… think like this then WE HAVE ALL SINNED.
And… that concept cannot be disputed.
And yes, once you become a believer in Christ you will receive a new heart and new mind, which will help you understand original sin a little more.
So, you see from the beginning humanity was in paradise, but WE SINNED and all that is lost, which resulted in DISEASE, DEATH, AND DESPAIR.
So, we see that humanity Sinned, and God come down to ask Adam particularly where he was.
God was not calling Adam to see where he was geologically.
But he was calling him to GIVE HIM AN OPPORTUNITY TO REPENT OF HIS SIN.
This leads to the second question.
Did you listen?
vrs.
11
God was once questioning Adam about whether he listened to His command about the tree.
What I want you to see is this, WHEN GOD SPEAKS DO YOU LISTEN?
God is a speaking God.
He is a God that speaks in many ways it might be by a preacher, friend, stranger, the Bible, or Him directly.
YOU SEE GOD MIGHT BE CALLING YOU TO SALVATION, BUT ARE YOU LISTENING?
OR ARE YOU LIKE ADAM AND DISREGARDING HIS VOICE.
Well… I am not so sure about this whole Christianity thing.
Okay, let me further explain it.
In the beginning humanity was in communion with God.
We sinned and broke that communion.
This left a huge gap between us and God.
Sorta like the United States and Europe.
So, why the gap?
Well… God is Holy and Just.
These are part of who He is.
And with us being sinful we COULD NOT be in the presence of a HOLY and JUST God.
So, Jesus the perfect being come to earth and died for our sins.
And… what this done was according to , “For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.”
For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
So, now that Christ died and give us his righteousness we are forgiven and free to commune with God again.
In other words Jesus is the bridge between God and Man.
The only bridge according to , “Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life.
No one comes to the Father except through me.”
So, those other religions that say you can go to heaven by other means is WRONG.
Jesus is the only way to the Father.
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life.
No one comes to the Father except through me.
This leads to our answer of God’s first two questions.
Be assured, I came to save.
()
In this all so wonderful verse Jesus himself says, “I came to seek and save the lost.”
This is Christianity in a NUTSHELL.
We sinned.
Christ died as our sacrifice.
And we do as says WE WILL BE RECONCILED WITH GOD.
, “because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
10 For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.”
because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
10 For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.
You see no matter where you are right now in life, HE IS SEEKING AND SEARCHING FOR YOU.
Don’t be like Adam and disregard the words of God.
If He is calling you RESPOND NOW.....
This might be your last chance to be reconciled.
The last thing I want to do is try to scare someone into heaven by saying they might die tonight so get it right.
No, what I am saying that this decision WILL BE THE BEST ONE YOU HAVE EVER MADE...
At this time I have a few people that come with me to pray with you guys.
So, if you want someone to pray with you about something you have going on.
OR BETTER YET YOU WANT TO BE RECONCILED TO GOD THROUGH THE SON JESUS CHRIST.
PLEASE COME FORWARD.
