ARE YOU ACTING LIKE A CHILD?  - St. Luke 18:15-17

Jesus the Christ was a master teacher. He takes ordinary items and subjects that the people of his day could relate to bring home a spiritual and natural truth. For example he would talk about him being the true vine and we being the branches and that without him we could d o nothing. He would take seed and talk about how the seed represent the word of God and you have those who receive it as different types of ground. He would use stories called parables to express his Kingdom gospel.

There is something about the Kingdom of God heaven that talks a lot about how we should act and how we should live. Case and point Jesus would constantly use the phrase the Kingdom of heaven is like. That the moment you accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as your savior you stepped into the Kingdom of God. In this Kingdom God reigns supreme. God is sovereign. He rules, he provides, he sustains, he moves, he operates and he is omniscient, omnipotent, and omnipresent. God reigns eternally. God is KING. God never got voted in and he can’t get voted out. We cannot impeach God. In the kingdom this is not a democracy it I a THEOCRACY. God alone reigns over us all. Psalm 24 says God is so bad that the earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof. The world and they that dwell therein. A few verses down it says, Lift up your heads oh ye gates and be ye lifted up ye everlasting doors and the King of Glory shall come in. Who is the King of Glory, the Lord Strong and Mighty, The Lord Mighty in Battle. Who is the King of Glory, The Lord of Hosts is the King of Glory Selah. Hosts means = multitudes. Black, white, yellow, brown, purple. He reigns over everything and everybody.

What I like about God is that God can not be manipulated, tricked or bamboozled. He knows your thoughts and he knows our ways.

Kingdoms OF THE EARTH have servants, but not in God’s Kingdom. We are his sons, daughter and children. That means that we have access to the king. Everybody in here ought to feel like you are God’s favorite child. When he wants someone to sing he wants you to sing, when he wants someone to preach, he wants you to preach, when he wants someone to pray, he wants to hear you pray. It’s sad if you don’t have that kind of relationship with God. God then becomes:

·         my Elohim (The most powerful and glorious one one);

·         God then becomes my El Shaddai (God that is more than enough)

·         God then become El Tsikenu (God my righteousness),

·         God then becomes my Jehovah Jireh (My provider);

·         Jehovah Shalom (My Peace),

·         Jehovah Rophe – God that heals

·         Jehovah Nissi, God my banner- He is the one who will fight my battle.

·         Jehovah N’kaddesh – The God that sanctifies

Ask somebody do you know GOD!

Don’t make me cry- I’ll call on God

As a child of God it is good to know that we are a part of God’s kingdom. Why. Because then we can know and rest in the King’ hands because  we are children of the King.

KINGDOM  OF GOD IS LIKE:

If you haven’t already you can learn a lot from watching a child.

CHILDREN ARE Biblically a blessing sent by God Psalms 127:3-5 says that children are a heritage (legacy, heirs) from the Lord. The fruit of the womb is a reward. Like arrows in the hand if a warrior, so are the children of one’s youth and he goes on to state happy is the man who has his quiver full of them; they shall not be ashamed.

DEPENDENT: DEPENDENT – TO RELY ON FOR SUPPORT

They have to rely on someone or some institution to make sure that their immediate needs are met. One of things that I noticed is that children expect that there parents will take good care of them. They expect to never have the family resources to dry up. That’s the way we ought to be with God. If we are a King’s Kid only God can supply all of our needs according to his riches in glory. No man can supply, no woman can supply, no job can supply, ONLY GOD CAN SUPPLY all of your needs. His resources never run out.

You can depend on God. Song they used to sing a long time ago- I learned how to lean and depend on Jesus; I found out that if you trust him he will provide. That a God that I can serve. A god that will through when your resources have run.

When my daughter cries she knows that has to get her needs met from Daddy or Mommy. She knows that as long as I cry it can be any time of the day, somebody is going to come through. Somebody is going to get up at 3:00 in the morning and meet my needs. You can cry God, morning, noon or night and know that God is there to meet you needs. Sometime you may have to cry all night,. But God will make a way.

I KNOW SOME OF US SAY WE ARE GROWN AND I CAN’T DEPEND ON NO ONE, BUT YOU CAN DEPEND ON God. One of things that make this so significant about children is that they are dependent but they don’t worry as much. When we depend on God we don’t have to worry because we know that God will provide. If he provided for us in the past, and he is providing for us in our present, we can rest assured that he will provided for our future.

HUMBLED – MEEK, MODEST, They are teachable.  To the children. Don’t you ever forget a Martin Luther King Jr., Medgar Evers, Fannie Lou Hammer, Rosa Parks, Coretta Scott King and of those who fought in the Civil Rights Movement. Don’t forget where you cam form.

What we adults ought to pray is to pray that God will give us a teachable spirit. I don’t know everything and I can’t do everything. So I will listen to those who have gone before me and to those who are in position to get the advice that I need. The worst kind of person is someone who will not listen to anybody. They know everything until they get into trouble. Children need to learn, they have to grow in order to some day be able to walk this earthly journey in their own with God.

TRUSTING – FIRM RELIANCE OR ABILITY IN A PERSON OR A THING; SOMETHING COMMITTED IN THE CARE OF ANOTHER; TO BE CONFIDENT IN; HOPE; FAITHFUL; TO BE CONFIDENT IN; TO BE RELIABLE

Some trust in horses and some in chariots, but we will trust in the Lord.

JOYFUL/EXCITED – TO REJOICE, INTENSE HAPPINESS

Praise and worship; When I think about God and that entire he done and all that his is doing and all that he is going to do. I can’t help myself but to praise him. I have to play before the Lord. Some of you don’t believe that you can play, but I got Bible for. In 2 Samuel 6:14-23. David is excited that the Ark of Covenant which represented the presence of God came back to Jerusalem, The Bible says, David leaped and danced with all of his might. Sometimes you just got to dance because of what God is doing.

SEEK ATTENTION/ once they have become bored with something they will look for something else to get into.

Obedient : Have we learned how to obey. When our children don’t obey they are disciplined.  Obey even in the greatest of temptations. I will sya yes to your wil and yes to your way.

REBUKE: JESUS REBUKES HIS DISCIPLES FOR NOT ALLOWING THE CHILDREN TO COME TO HIM. WE CANNOT STOP ANYONE FORM HAVING ACCESS TO JESUS. IF ANYTHING WE OUIGHT TO BRING OUR CHILDREN TO JESUS. LOOK AT WHAT’S HAPPENING IN OUR SCHOOLS AND CHURCHES. TEACHES WANTING TO MOLEST CHILDREN. GANGS WANT TO BE THE FATHERS OF OUR SONS. THE STREETS WANTS TO BE THE SANCTUARIES FOR OUR DAUGHTER.

OUR CHILDREN NEED TO COME TO JESUS EARLY. THE DEVIL WANTS TO GET OUR CHILDREN EARLY. EVEN THIS WEEK A MAN DECIDED TO CALL A GROUP OF YOUNG WOMEN WHO WERE PURSING THEIR EDUCATION, “NAPPY-HEADED…”

WE NEED TO TAKE A STAND TO DEFEND OUR CHILDREN. WE NEED TO TELL OUR CHILDREN WHO THEY ARE AND WHO THEY BELONG TO.

ANYTHING DEROGATORY ABOUT OUR CHILDREN. OUR CHILDREN ARE UNDER ATTACK AND FACE THE PEER PRESSURE OF:

  1. FOLLOWING FRIENDS
  2. SEXUAL ENCOUNTERS
  3. DRUGS AND ALCOHOL

JESUS BLESSED THEM:

Blessed does not mean a new car, house or a large bank account

Blessed means God has given his approval and his divine favor.

Favor ain’t fair comment : But if you woke up this morning you were blessed, if you got food to eat you  are blessed. If you have a roof over your head you are blessed.

YOU ARE GREAT. YOU ARE INTELLIGENT. YOU ARE SPECIAL. YOU ARE AN ORIGINAL. YOU ARE UNIQUE. YOU ARE A YOUNG MAN OR A YOUNG WOMAN.

How do I become a Child again: ST. John 3 says that you must be Born Again. Born of the water and the spirit:

Water represents the cleansing, renewing or spiritual cleansing through the work of the

Spirit. The Spirit represents new life. I got a new way of walking, a new way of talking, a new way of living. You must be born again. Born from above through trust in Jesus.

NEVER DOUBT THAT GOD WELCOMES YOU

NEVER DOUBT GOD WANTS TO BLESS YOU

NEVER DOUBT THAT GOD VALUES YOU
