Things I’m not Good at...

There are a ton of things i’m not good at...
anything to do with math
spelling
making phone calls (do not like to do that)
and memorizing things
I have an awful memory most of the time… it’s probably why I’m bad at math and it’s definitely why I love my iPad and iPhone… cause they can remember things for me. they are like my little external brains. So when I hear that the sword of the spirit is the word of God I kinda get a little nervous cause I’m not good at memorizing the Bible...
But I can remember somethings.... like the amour of God… let do that together right now:
Belt of Truth
Breastplate of righteousness
Shoes of the preparation of the Gospel
Sheild of faith
Helmet of salvation
Sword of the Spirit
So this is the last part of the armor of God and you’ll may notice something different about this particular part of the Armor… any guesses?
let people guess
The sword of the spirit is the only Offensive weapon. which means it’s the only thing you can fight with. the rest of the armor of God are defensive, that means they protect you. but the Swords is the one item that you can fight with.
So this makes the sword kind of important right? I mean who would go into battle without a weapon… not mater how protected you are you would still lose right? it wouldn’t be a very good thing to do… so the word of God is our weapon that we use to fight spiritual battles… just like Jesus dd when he was tempted b satan:
Let’s read Matthew 4:1-11
Matthew 4:1–11 NKJV
Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. And when He had fasted forty days and forty nights, afterward He was hungry. Now when the tempter came to Him, he said, “If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.” But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’ ” Then the devil took Him up into the holy city, set Him on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down. For it is written: ‘He shall give His angels charge over you,’ and, “In their hands they shall bear you up, Lest you dash your foot against a stone.’ ” Jesus said to him, “It is written again, ‘You shall not tempt the Lord your God.’ ” Again, the devil took Him up on an exceedingly high mountain, and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. And he said to Him, “All these things I will give You if You will fall down and worship me.” Then Jesus said to him, “Away with you, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve.’ ” Then the devil left Him, and behold, angels came and ministered to Him.
Did you notice what Jesus did to fight off each temptation?
Allow for some answers
he used his sword! the word of God to fight of each temptation. Every time satan tried to get Him to so something wrong Jesus found a Bible verse to fight off that temptation
Int he same way as we learn to read and to know the Bible we will find that when satan tries to tempt us that parts of the bible will come to our mind to help us fight off that temptation.
Maybe when we satan tempts us to give up Jeremiah 29:11 wiill come to mind
Jeremiah 29:11 NKJV
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.
or maybe when we are tempted to talk back to our moms or dad Eph 6:1-3 will come to mind
Ephesians 6:1–3 NKJV
Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. “Honor your father and mother,” which is the first commandment with promise: “that it may be well with you and you may live long on the earth.”
Maybe when you’re feeling low and like you don’t matter Ps 139:14 will come to mind
Psalm 139:14 NKJV
I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well.
But this things with all these verse is that you have to know the word… just like a master swordsman has to practice with their sword all the time… we also have to practice with the Bible all the time… we have to read the Bible and meditate on it all the time… that is the only way that you will get good with your sword… which is the word of God.!
