What did we talk about last week?
Bearing each other’s burdens
Being our best, not someone else's better
In this passage Paul goes on to show how to do these two things and describes what will happen when we do
Verse 6
literally just saying, if someone teaches you, share with them from what you have
so give me stuff!
haha
“God is not mocked”
He doesn’t care about our empty words
He looks at our actions
“that”
literally this and nothing else
you will only receive results from what you put in
“the one who sows to his own flesh”
basic desires, just doing what feels good or makes you happy in the moment
“reap corruption”
destruction
this isn’t punishment, this is simply the result
this is meant to be very practical, if we only focus on doing what feels good, eventually that will catch up to us in a negative way
“sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life”
same thing but reverse, this is just the natural result of sowing into the Spirit of God!
Verse 9
Be relaxed in doing good!
As we’ve been home from camp for a few weeks I’m sure you may have slipped back into your normal routine, don’t let that happen!
We don’t know God’s time, but we do know God’s truth
Verse 10
Don’t just do good for ourselves but be good to others, especially though in our church
As Christians we are called to make the body stronger, not just get fed by it!
Conclusion
As we fall into our daily routines, let us all continue to do good!
