Introduction:

One thing to remember and that is the Lord did not call us to be popular but to be faithful.

In our opening text the Lord makes a declaration concerning the faithful he states that they that are faithful over little will be made ruler over much.

The word faithful in this this particular verse of scripture…comes from the Greek word pistos: It means trusty, faithful of persons who show themselves faithful in the transaction of business, the execution of commands, or the discharge of official duties one who kept his plighted faith, worthy of trust that can be relied on.

What?

The understanding of what it means to be faithful has been distorted and relinquished to halfhearted effort and something that does not cost anything definitely not sacrificially.

Can I start by telling you that for a person to be faithful they have to be intentional with their being faithful.

When it comes to serving the Lord with all of the things that come your way you are going to have to make up in your mind that you are going to serve him…in essence your are deciding to be faithful.

There is no such thing as part time loyalty or faithfulness to be hit and miss and part time is to be not faithful at all.

Our opening scripture states he that that is faithful over little I want to stress over little not he the is a little faithful because that is a oxymoron…you can’t be a little faithful.

True faithfulness is challenging

Find me someone that has been on a job for 5 years or more and they will tell you that there were some days they did not want to go.

There were some situations that arose that they had to deal with.

but if they are still there they can be considered faithful.

Because being faithful is so challenging you have to have what many call stickability-A person ability to persevere with something in other words to have stickability is to have staying power.

So then, it is faithfulness that brings gain and and elevation into our lives both in the spirit and in the natural…it is possible for you to be faithful in one area of your life and not be faithful in another.

So, if there are areas where you don’t experience much then maybe you lack faithfulness in that area… true faithfulness will cause you to have to....

persevere

Work and keep going even when you feel looked over or forgotten about....but just know that God will never forget you.

More importantly it will cause you to have to pray.

So sometimes you will have to work with tears and show up in tears but be faithful because it is all going to pay off.

Even when it comes to marriages…no successful marriage is successful without to people deciding to be faithful no matter what! that’s why the vows are made…For better or for worse....through sickness and in health…until death do we part!

To be faithful does not mean you are flawless----it means it means I’m going to hang in there despite my downfalls or despite the downfall of others I have been called to be faithful to and despite sometimes the situations that rise up.

Why?

Faithfulness then is very important when it comes to God and it is a key component to elevation and destination…Many spend there whole life bouncing around from place to place looking for a place of comfortability choosing the places of least resistance…And where resistance and challenge is located the give up and give in…but that not faithfulness.

Then there are others that have not found the ability within themselves to be faithful over that which is another man’s

You have to learn then how to be faithful not just for the sake of someone else but for your sake.

23 His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.
