Call to Worship

Leader: Our hearts are steadfast, O God; We will sing and make music with all our souls.

People: Awake, harp and lyre! We will awaken the dawn. We will praise you O Lord, among the nations. We will sing of you among the peoples.

Leader: For great is your love, higher than the heavens; your faithfulness reaches to the skies.

People: Be exalted, O God, above the heavens and let your glory be over all the earth!

Leader: You who bring good tidings to Zion, go up on a high mountain. You, who bring good tidings to Jerusalem, lift up your voices with a shout, do not be afraid; say to the towns “Here is your God!”

Unison: See! the Sovereign Lord comes with power, and his arm rules for him. See, his reward is with him, and his recompense accompanies him. He tends his flock like a shepherd and carries the lambs in his arms near his heart. Sing “Alleluia to the Lord!”

Unison prayer                                                                  Rev. Irish

Risen Savior, on this Easter morning we can’t help but say “Alleluia!” to you. This word that means ‘Praise the Lord’ is on our lips today because you conquered death, defeated sin, and opened the way to heaven for us, through your resurrection from the grave. We say “Alleluia!” for the promises you have fulfilled in our lives. We say “Alleluia!” for the new life we have in you. We say “Alleluia!” for the Good news of your Word. We say “Alleluia!” for the  hope you have given us. And we say “Alleluia!” for all the “Alleluias!” yet to be. Amen

Hymn                     “Hail the Day that Sees Him Rise”                  (#173)

Benediction                                                                      Rev. Hartman

Leader: Now that you have heard the good news, what will you do?

People: We will go out to the world, showing by our lives that Christ is risen indeed!

Leader: Praise God! And how will you do this?

People: We will tell the story of God’s love for the world in Jesus Christ, and we will continue Christ’s loving acts among humanity.

Leader: Go into the world, with God’s new song of love in your hearts. Forgive others, as you are forgiven. Open your hearts to the coming of God’s Spirit. And may the peace of God which passes all understanding keep your hearts and minds through Jesus the risen Christ!

Unison: Alleluia! Alleluia! And Amen!
