Freedom is more than a slogan
The question is clear… What relationship was intended between God and the USA ?
Why did people, in mass, come to the shores of America.
In the year 1554, there was imprisoned at Ghent, in Flanders, for following Christ and living according to God’s commandments, a young brother named David van der leyen, who, when examined, freely confessed his faith. Being asked what he thought of the sacrament, David said, that he considered it nothing else than idolatry. Then a priest said to him, “Friend, you err greatly, that you so readily confess your faith, for it will cost you your life, if you do not change your mind in time.” Thereupon David sweetly replied, “I am ready to shed my blood for the name of Christ, even though it should be here in this place; for God is my salvation, who will keep me, and preserve me from all evil.” The priest said, “It will not be as good as though you were put to death secretly here in this place; but you will be burnt publicly at the stake, for an everlasting reproach.” He was then brought into the court, where he was condemned to death, and his sentence was read, namely, that he had fallen from the true faith into heresy, and was therefore, according to the imperial edict, sentenced to be strangled and burned. David said, “No one will ever be able to prove by the Scriptures, that the faith for which I must now die is heresy.”
On October 31, 1731, the Catholic ruler of Salzburg, Austria, Archbishop Leopold von Firmian, issued an edict expelling as many as 20,000 Lutherans from his principality. Many property less Lutherans, given only eight days to leave their homes, froze to death as they drifted through the winter seeking sanctuary.

Once the killing started, mobs of Catholic Parisians, apparently overcome with bloodlust, began a general massacre of Huguenots. Mass slaughters continued for months, reaching the provinces of Rouen, Lyon, Bourges, Bourdeaux, and Orleans. An estimated 3,000 French Protestants were killed in Paris, and as many as 70,000 in all of France.

However, Coligny was only wounded, and Charles promised to investigate the assassination in order to placate the angry Huguenots. Catherine then convinced the young king that the Huguenots were on the brink of rebellion, and he authorized the murder of their leaders by the Catholic authorities. Most of these Huguenots were in Paris at the time, celebrating the marriage of their leader, Henry of Navarre, to the king’s sister, Margaret.A list of those to be killed was drawn up, headed by Coligny, who was brutally beaten and thrown out of his bedroom window just before dawn on August 24. Once the killing started, mobs of Catholic Parisians, apparently overcome with bloodlust, began a general massacre of Huguenots. Charles issued a royal order on August 25 to halt the killing, but his pleas went unheeded as the massacres spread. Mass slaughters continued into October, reaching the provinces of Rouen, Lyon, Bourges, Bourdeaux, and Orleans. On 16 August 1553 he was summoned before the council and bidden to keep within his own house. In January 1554, Bonner, the new Bishop of London, sent him to Newgate Prison, where he lay with John Hooper, Laurence Saunders, John Bradford and others for a year. Their petitions, whether for less rigorous treatment or for opportunity of stating their case, were disregarded. In December 1554, Parliament re-enacted the penal statutes against Lollards, and on 22 January 1555, two days after they took effect, Rogers (with ten other people) came before the council at Gardiner's house in Southwark, and defended himself in the examination that took place. On 28 and 29 January he came before the commission appointed by Cardinal Pole, and was sentenced to death by Gardiner for heretically denying the Christian character of the Church of Rome and the real presence in the sacrament. He awaited and met death cheerfully, though he was even denied a meeting with his wife. He was burned at the stake on 4 February 1555 at Smithfield. It is said that: "even his children assisted at it, comforting him in such a manner that it seemed as if he had been led to a wedding."

Many make the claim that America was colonized because expansion of monarchies
It is true that men like Columbus, Ponce de Leon, Magellan and Drake were sent by their countries in search of treasures they never sought to do more than increase the wealth of their parent countries… they were not trying to escape anything.
So what did the early leaders wish for this new country
Some would say the Founding Fathers were against religion being any factor
We’ve all heard the phrase Separation of Church and state or been chastised by someone referencing The establishment clause.

But do those speak to what really happened, is it really that cut and dry.
If all that is true why is there a phrase “Endowed by our Creator” found in the Declaration of Independence
Or why did they allow a Chaplain for the Senate of the United States
Or why is the Ten Commandments on the very building that houses the highest court in the land.
SURELY THEY KNEW THESE WERE SYMBOLS AND REFERENCES THAT POINTED TO THE CHRISTIAN GOD.
Maybe we should notice that all 50 states mention God in their Constitutions!
But what about those that were Deist? Believe in God but not His intervention in the affairs of man?
What about Thomas Jefferson's support of the use of the Bible in public schools
What about Benjamin Franklin and his request for prayer? D of I, Articles of the Confederacy, Continental Congress
I have lived, Sir, a long time, and the longer I live, the more convincing proofs I see of this truth- that God Governs in the affairs of men. And if a sparrow cannot fall to the ground without his notice, is it probable that an empire can rise without his aid?

Don’t be confused I for one do not believe the USA was intended to be a Theocracy. Also understand if you promote a public faith you will be accused of promoting a Theocracy.
What is a Theocracy? A country Controlled by a religious group
Currently in the world 15% of the nations have some type of religious test for their leaders and the majority of those are Muslim.

Many will argue that Democratic rule or Democracy, as the framework of a Republic, was a result of the Greeks.
But I answer what Greek Philosopher founded their thinking of Government on one God and His benevolent hand upon His people.
Was it Aristotle? Plato? Socrates? They entertained the view that there were many Gods and those that did entertain the thought of one God could not relate to a God who would become human.

Who is the first to help when there’s a flood or a tragedy?
What country is the most benevolent country in the world?
Who’s the first to defend a weaker nation against an aggressor?
Who is it that promotes freedom around the world?
What country has more aid groups than any other… The US of A
Matter of fact show me one other nation that defeats another nation and then rebuilds that nation and gives them their freedom?
Whats the difference.... The difference can be found in the fact that America wanted to be A CITY ON A HILL.

Salt is used to add flavor to food; it is used to draw out the water in foods; it is used to cure food for longevity; it is used to create traction on icy roads. (Calcium chloride is actually used for this purpose more, but if you don’t have any of that sitting around, you can use table salt to create traction on your front step on a snowy day.) I believe that salt was even used for antiseptic purposes.
In the Christian sense we are to be the change agent for the world.

Salt that has lost it flavor
So, for salt to lost is pungent saltiness, or change its physical composition, it would have to be diluted in water because it is non-reactive in its crystalline form.
So, for the Christian, for the salt of the earth, to lose his degree of saltiness, the Gospel would have to diluted in his life. This person is the complacent Christian, the person who does not protect the Truth of the gospel in his life from the rainfall of other ideas and ideologies. A person who handles their Faith carelessly instead of nurturing it.
This person mixes the Truth therein making the salt worthless.
