The hour has come

On one of the last days of the Lord Jesus upon earth before His death his disciples are approached by a group of Greek nationals visiting Jerusalem, who seek an audience with Jesus.
The backgoround is
Wise men from the East visited the infant Christ at His birth and at his death enquirers came from the West. ‘We would see Jesus’
This occasions a dramatic response, “The hour has come for the Son of Man to be glorified”
We are not told if an audience was granted to the Greek inquirers but we may assume that they listened to the teaching that arose from their request.
Several times in John’s gospel Jesus states clearly, ‘My hour is not yet come’, (2:4, 7:30, 8:20)and now He states just as clearly, ‘the hour has come.’
The hour of His Glory
His glory is reached by way of the cross
The lesson from the natural world
The two laws self-renunciation, the law of self-preservation; and its converse, self-preservation, the law of self-destruction?
