Last week recap

Read 1 Thessalonians Chapter 1
To the church of the Thessalonians in God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ: Grace to you and peace.
2 We give thanks to God always for all of you, making mention of you in our prayers; 3 constantly bearing in mind your work of faith and labor of love and steadfastness of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ in the presence of our God and Father, 4 knowing, brethren beloved by God, His choice of you; 5 for our gospel did not come to you in word only, but also in power and in the Holy Spirit and with full conviction; just as you know what kind of men we proved to be among you for your sake. 6 You also became imitators of us and of the Lord, having received the word in much tribulation with the joy of the Holy Spirit, 7 so that you became an example to all the believers in Macedonia and in Achaia. 8 For the word of the Lord has sounded forth from you, not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but also in every place your faith toward God has gone forth, so that we have no need to say anything. 9 For they themselves report about us what kind of a areception we had with you, and how you turned to God from idols to serve da living and true God, 10 and to wait for His Son from heaven, whom He raised from the dead, that is Jesus, who rescues us from the wrath to come.
Last week we covered verses 3 and 4. I spent time on a thankfulness to God for all of you. I wanted to speak of our work of faith and our labor of love. I say this as one with you and not apart from you. I wanted to speak of the evidence of steadfast that is present in our church, our assembly, our ekklēsía. You see it was asked if I felt sharing the the truth behind my time among you as someone that pretends and fakes a walk with Christ. That if it would cause others to second guess what God has done in me.

NO NO NO and a million times NO. Because I am His, and I no longer have to second guess even for myself. The work of the cross is my full assurance. I have one direction today and until the clock runs out and he can have it all. He can have my money, he can have my time, he can have my job. Its the power of Jesus that rescued this traders heart. Everyone in this room that is living in God today knows what I am speaking of. Everyone that has had a taste of His grace understands the magnitude and majesty of our Champion… King Jesus, who stepped out of eternity so that you and I may have life. That we all saw that it was His hand that stretched out to save us. That he came and gave as all, he gave us it all and saved us from the wrath of God. Let me repeat this… saved us from the wrath of God. Some of us sitting in this room have been rescued from the wrath of God. Some of us sitting in this room have NOT been rescued from the wrath of God. Listen to me here.
Listen before your mind
I am not talking about some of us being chosen by God and some of us are not. I am saying that if you have not turned to the living God from a life serving the temporal to living for the eternal then you have failed to see the wrath to come. This is a reality that we must address, this is a reality that must examine with ourselves. That some of us can live each day reading their bibles, coming to church, and never turn to the living God and are blind to the dangers of the wrath of God thats to come. That also too some of us can live each day reading their bibles, coming to church and HAVE turned to the living God from a life of serving the temporal for the eternal and have been rescued from the wrath to come. BUT CHANCE how do we know who the fakers ares? Maybe you are asking yourself how do you know yourself if you are faking?
Look I am not up here tonight to undo you our sow doubt but you need to look with in yourself. Look within yourself and ask are you constantly bearing in mind your work of faith and labor of love and steadfastness of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ in the presence of our God and Father OR are you constantly bearing in mind the work of faith of everyone around you? That you think about how others lack labor of love and lack the steadfastness of hope and you declare all this in the Lord Jesus Christ in the presence of our God and Father.
constantly bearing in mind your work of faith and labor of love and csteadfastness of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ in the presence of our God and Father.
What is the gospel that is being spoken when you go home? HUH? Whos power are you living by? Is it yours or it His power? Here Ill help you figure it out real quick. What if I approached you ( and I have actually done this but I haven’t gotten any takers) but if I caught you in the lobby after church and said I am going to come live with you for 15 days and be with you for a full 15 days. How does the 15 days go? This is what Paul says he did with Peter in Galatians chapter one.

------GO ON how we would have to fake it. ------
----Go ON about what would I see and whos eyes would it before.----
The gospel is more than words we hear its power and it brings conviction. Conviction not condemnation. Freedom not bondage. Its eternal wisdom that come forth not our head knowledge. The Gospel is the good news and its sounds forth from us because in every place in your life your faith is towards and in God thats the power. We cant be people that come to life because of the circumstances that surround us and determine that those people need the gospel or the gospel is need in that group or this group. Thats condemnation at its most clever.
I dont care if you are 9 or 90 the gospel is the Good news and its just as living as it was 2000 years ago. That its living and it lives inside us as a voice that shouts in the street, that can be heard from the square. Who needs to hear this come for from us? Sinners and who are the sinners? We all are sinners. We all are in desperate need of more the Gospel and the Gospel in its most simple terms is Jesus Christ. I can not exhaust paper, pen, and time of our King and our Champion Jesus.
The Lord formed Him from the beginning, before He created anything else.
before He created anything else.
Jesus was appointed in ages past, at the very first, before the earth began.
23 I was appointed in ages past,
at the very first, before the earth began.
24 Jesus was there before the oceans were created, before the springs bubbled forth their waters.
before the springs bubbled forth their waters.
Before the mountains were formed, before the hills, Jesus was alive before the earth and fields and the first handfuls of soil.
before the hills, I was born—
26 before he had made the earth and fields
and the first handfuls of soil.

22 “The LORD formed me from the beginning,

before he created anything else.

23 I was appointed in ages past,

at the very first, before the earth began.

24 I was born before the oceans were created,

before the springs bubbled forth their waters.

25 Before the mountains were formed,

before the hills, I was born—

26 before he had made the earth and fields

and the first handfuls of soil.

27 I was there when he established the heavens,

when he drew the horizon on the oceans.

28 I was there when he set the clouds above,

when he established springs deep in the earth.

29 I was there when he set the limits of the seas,

so they would not spread beyond their boundaries.

And when he marked off the earth’s foundations,

30 I was the architect at his side.

I was his constant delight,

rejoicing always in his presence.

31 And how happy I was with the world he created;

how I rejoiced with the human family!

32 “And so, my children,* listen to me,

for all who follow my ways are joyful.

33 Listen to my instruction and be wise.

Don’t ignore it.

34 Joyful are those who listen to me,

watching for me daily at my gates,

waiting for me outside my home!

35 For whoever finds me finds life

and receives favor from the LORD.

36 But those who miss me injure themselves.

All who hate me love death.”

Jesus was there when the heavens were established, when the line was drawn on the horizon of the oceans.
when he drew the horizon on the oceans.
28 Jesus was there when the clouds were set above,
when he established springs deep in the earth.
29 I was there when he set the limits of the seas,
so they would not spread beyond their boundaries.
And when he marked off the earth’s foundations,
30 I was the architect at his side.
