The Power in a Testimony

John 9:25 ESV
He answered, “Whether he is a sinner I do not know. One thing I do know, that though I was blind, now I see.”
No one can ever take away what God has done in your life!
I love the new song that came out recently,
Chain Breaker
If You Beleive it
If You have received it
If You have felt it.
Somebody testify!
is centered around a man that was born blind and the whole chapter deals with blindness.
To be born blind is a bad thing,
for us it is, for a blind person, its bad for us to think of it, but for a blind person from birth.
Is it possible for them to miss what they have never had?
Do they desire to see, think about it for a moment. They havent never seen anything.
So how can they possibly relate to seeing?
We see blindness here,
physical blindness and yet a far more graver form of blindness, spirtual blidness.
We know that all are born sinners.
All have fallen short of the Glory of God.
We were all spirtually blind.
If you go to a lost person, they are spirtually blind.
They cant see what you are talking about.
They cant understand it, they cant discern it.
Their is two things that is working for them to help them see,
The Holy Spirit and you!
The Holy Spirit will bring conviction to them of theor sin.
Your testimony will show them that change is possible!
Revelation 12:11 ESV
And they have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, for they loved not their lives even unto death.
So many are blind in this world,
but their is good news, you who were blind just as they are received sight, you know the giver of your sight abd the Lord will use your testimony to give them sight as well!
Its by the blood of the Lamb,
This was taken care of over 2000 years ago. done. check
By the Word of your testimony, can you check this one also?
Somebody Testify!
No one can ever argue what the Lord has done in your life.
oh, they can argue doctrine, thelogy, and contridictions, but now what God has done in your life.
Testify!
A Testimony has 3 essential parts to it.
Your Life before Jesus
Your Life coming to Jesus
Your Life since Jesus
If you cant see this in your life,
If you dont have all three of these essentials,
Based off of Gods Word I would suggest you examine your salvation.
2 Corinthians 5:17 ESV
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.
If,..... anyone is in Christ
something happens here,
Old things in your life go away
I use to like tacos before Church, now I dont like them any more.
This isnt what it means.
Its refering to the sinfulness, the old lifestyle you lived beofre Jesus.
It will go away, maybe not all of it but a huge part will, a big enough part that people around you will notive!
New things come
Now I like Spinach,
I am so grateful that the Lord didnt do that to me, hate the stuff.
Its talking about the newness of Christ.
The things that have came into your life since Jesus,
I love to read Gods Word
I cant get enough of fellowship with other Christians
I cant wait till the next bible study or service
I just talk about Jesus with everyone i see.
I try not to be releigious but everytime i start talking about something Jesus comes up.
You find your self shopping for things to hang on the wall in the place of the skull and cross bones.
Like scripture, the Lords supper, a cross.
Psalm 37:4 ESV
Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.
P
This verse dosent mean that if you have been desireing to be a millionare that now you will get your wish.
It means what it says,
The very things your heart desires is coming from the Lord.
This is all a result of
But......
A Lot of people will profess Jesus as Lord and yet not have had anything old to go away,
Oh they praise the Lord, Go to church and bow,
But has the old passes away in their life?
Because you can be sure of this,
Christ can be on your lips, but if the old you is still their you arent a changed person and if you arent a changed person, says you arent in Christ!
These arent my words, These are the Lords Words!
If any man / woman be in Christ!
A Lot of peoplemclaim Jesus, but yet the old is still present in their lives.
Every man and woman who has repented of ther sins, who has confessed Jesus and asked for forgivness and has received Jesus in to their lives,
They are a new creation.
They think differently
They talk differently
they walk differently.
This is a Work of God!
Its not a result of what you have done,
Its a result of what God had in your life!
No one can argure with your testimony as long as they can see it!
If you have a 3 part story to tell but yet their is no change in your life, people will know this.
Its like two tea bags,
one has brown tea and one has green tea,
You hold them up side by side and cant tell the difference,
how do you find out which is which.
Just drop them in some hot water for just about a min and you will see.
The same can be said about a professing Christian.
You see in
Their is a part after when it talks about testimony, even to your death.
Revelation 12:11 ESV
And they have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, for they loved not their lives even unto death.
This goes to
Acts 1:8 ESV
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
witnesses means martal, which means to be willing to die for the sake of the Gospel
vs 26 of
John 9:36 ESV
He answered, “And who is he, sir, that I may believe in him?”
John 9:26 ESV
They said to him, “What did he do to you? How did he open your eyes?”
loom at vs 15
John 9:15 ESV
So the Pharisees again asked him how he had received his sight. And he said to them, “He put mud on my eyes, and I washed, and I see.”
The Jewish leaders have already asked the man how he received his sight,
now in vs 26 they are asking him again.
How did he do it they ask.
vs 27
John 9:27 ESV
He answered them, “I have told you already, and you would not listen. Why do you want to hear it again? Do you also want to become his disciples?”
I told you
why do you want to hear it again?
Do you want to become His disciples?
John 9:28 ESV
And they reviled him, saying, “You are his disciple, but we are disciples of Moses.
reviled, Greek word is lodereo, meaning they spoke to him in a insulting manner, as to slander this man, in a very strong sense
You are His disciple,
We are disciples of Moses.
This was a statement meant to degrade Jesus.
John 9:30–31 ESV
The man answered, “Why, this is an amazing thing! You do not know where he comes from, and yet he opened my eyes. We know that God does not listen to sinners, but if anyone is a worshiper of God and does his will, God listens to him.
back in verse 27 the man made them pretty mad, now its really on
why this is a amazing thing here,
we are to come to you all for spirtual answers and yet you have no clue.
You do not know where He comes from?
Are you kidding me?
and yet He opened my eyes!
Are you guys serious?
we know that God donent listen to sinners,
You see back in verse 16 they had established within themselves that Jesus was a sinner because He made mud on the sabath day,
so here the former blind man gos with them for a moment.
We know that God dosnt listen to sinners,
I want to point something out here in this verse,
Some will use this verse to say that God does not hear a sinner pray.
I have to tell you that this isnt true, because He heard mine back in July 2006,
If God dint hear a sinners prayer how would anyone ever get saved?
What I do beleive is that God dosent hear prayer outsid eof salvation,
I also beleive that if one holds sin in their heart that God does not hear them.
Psa
Psalm 66:18 ESV
If I had cherished iniquity in my heart, the Lord would not have listened.
Isaiah 59:1–2 ESV
Behold, the Lord’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save, or his ear dull, that it cannot hear; but your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, and your sins have hidden his face from you so that he does not hear.
I beleive this is for a beleiver and non beleiver.
Because we have
Happy Fathers Day,
I have a wonderful dad, but dont think I cant go to the place where he wont be to happy with me,
I can blow it in a heart beat, If I disrespect him or disobey him I am subjest to not hear anything from him for awhile.
But when ever I come to my senses and admit I was a jerk, all is good, why?
Because He is a good dad and he loves me.
Lets asume for a moment that I was a jerk, and disobeyed my day or disrespected him,
I wouldnt hear from him for awhile, but before I had the chance to come to my senses and to apoligze to him I got myself into a bad fix and despretaly needed him.
As soon as he knew that I really needed him he would be their in a flash no matter what.
why? because hes a great dad!
Just as my dad will always be their for me no matter wht , my fellowship can be hindered by my actions against him
Our actions or sin against God will hinder our fellowship with God as well,
tells us this,
The cure,
1 John 1:9 ESV
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
A Dad will always be a dad no matter what.
Just as our heavenly Father will always be our Father in heaven no matter what for follower of Jesus.
John 9:31 ESV
We know that God does not listen to sinners, but if anyone is a worshiper of God and does his will, God listens to him.
but.........
if anyone is a worshipper of God
and
does His will.
Dont miss this verse,
I worship God some will say,
I would say thats great!
But do you do His Will????????
When ever I see verses like this in the bible I think of
Matthew 7:21–23 ESV
“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’
We can worship the Lord, but do we do His will?
The former blind man here is saying to obvious to the jewish leaders,
If anyone is a worshiper of God and does His will, He will hear them!
They were wrong about Jesus is what the former blind man was showing them here.
Jesus was a worshiper of God and He was doing the will of God, the proof,
I was blind but now I see!
John 9:32 ESV
Never since the world began has it been heard that anyone opened the eyes of a man born blind.
No one has ever received sight when born blind, not ever.
John 9:33 ESV
If this man were not from God, he could do nothing.”
This is the only way Jesus could do anything, He was from God!
Revelation 12:11 ESV
And they have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, for they loved not their lives even unto death.
for they loved not their own lives to death,
This man was giving Glory to God! He wasnt concerned that they would do something to him, he wasnt concerned about being pt out of the synogue.
John 9:34 ESV
They answered him, “You were born in utter sin, and would you teach us?” And they cast him out.
Thye put him out of the synogue!
He has been cast out,
John 9:22 ESV
(His parents said these things because they feared the Jews, for the Jews had already agreed that if anyone should confess Jesus to be Christ, he was to be put out of the synagogue.)
now what?
Next week.
No one can ever argue your testimony as long as a changed life is associated with it!
Stand firm in the Lord,
It may cost you
your friends, family, job, carrear, or even your life,
But stand firm in the Lord and Testify!
