            This semester for our spiritual formation contract we concentrated prayer.
We considered the types, dynamics and importance prayer in the life of each believer.
Prayer is the vehicle inwhich the believer communicates with God.
Each believer has access and is invited to *"come boldly into the throne of grace"* of God because of the finished redemptive work of the Lord Jesus Christ, Heb.4:16.
There are four types of prayer.
First, private secret prayer (Mt.
6:6), second, public prayer (I Cor 14:14-17), and finally, group and family prayer, (Mt.
18:20 and Ac.
10:2,30)  There are various parts to prayer.
Prayer may be composed of adoration, confession, supplication, intercession and thanksgiving.
Specifically, *for this contract we focused our attention on benedictions in the Bible.
*Benedictions are pronouncements and~/or prayers by God and~/or man that serve as an act of blessing.
God pronounced blessings on His creation, *"And God saw that it was good.
God blessed them and said, "Be fruitful and multiply..." (Gen 1:22,28).*
After the deluge, again God pronounced blessing on Noah and his family, *"Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth."
(Gen  9:1).*
Melchizedek king of Salem blesssed Abram, *"Blessed be Abram by God Most High, Creator of heaven and earth.
And blessed be God Most High, who delivered your enemies into your hand," (Gen 14:19-20).
* Benedictions have been pronounced on sons (Gen.27:28),
monarachs (Gen 47:7), tribes of Israel (Dt.33), foreigners (Ru.
1:8-9), and children (Mk.
10:16).
There are two forms of benedicitons.
First, in the Old Testament there is the Aaronic form.
*                        *
*                                    The Lord bless you and keep you;                   *
*                                    the Lord make his face shine upon you *
*                                                and be gracious to you;*
*                                    the Lord turn his face toward you *
*                                                and give you peace."
*

*                                                                                                 Numbers 6:24-26*

Second, in the New Testament there is the Apostolic form.
May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ,
                                    and the love of God,
                                    and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you                                              all.
*                                                                                                 2 Cor.
13:14*
