God's Word to Mothers

Scripture: Psalm 127:1 and 128:1
There's a Mother's Day card that, on the front, reads: "Mom, I remember that little prayer you used to say for me every day."
When opened, the inside reads: "God help you if you ever do that again!" Kids can be challenging, but they are precious gifts from God.
As we celebrate Mother's Day today, moms let's look at God's Word to us in Psalms 127 and 128.
Firstly, Psalm 127:1 instructs you to dedicate Your Home to God.
Here is what it says: /“Unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build it.”/
Why must we dedicate our home to God?
Because God created the family; it's His design and He knows how it will best function.
The building of a house illustrates the creation of a family.
The point is that if it is to be done right, God must inspire and empower the building efforts.
Turn your life, including your home, over to the Master Builder.
Secondly, trust God to Provide for Your Family.
Psalm 127:2 tells us: “/It is vain for you to rise up early, To retire late, To eat the bread of painful labors; For He gives to His beloved even in his sleep”.
/The point in this verse is that God doesn't intend for us to work 24~/7.
If we are to build our family, we must make them a priority.
Children need our presence more than our presents.
Do you need to refocus?
No one ever said on his or her deathbed: "I wish I'd spent more time at the office!"
3. Recognize Children as God's Blessing.
In127:35 we read, \\ ”/Behold, children are a gift of the LORD, The fruit of the womb is a reward.
Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, So are the children of one's youth.
How blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them; They will not be ashamed When they speak with their enemies in the gate./
I don't have to tell you that in our society not everyone recognizes children as a blessing; some see them as a burden.
We all must admit raising kids isn't easy.
Kids can be challenging!
The Bible doesn't specify how many children you should have, but it does say children are a blessing.
If you have children, realize from the start that they are blessings from God.

Prepare Your Children to Make a Difference.
In teaching our children to make a difference, we as parents need to teach our children what to avoid.
We need to raise our children to learn how to change the world for Jesus Christ.
Our children need to be trained to make an impact on the world, to count for something in God's kingdom.

Model Godliness in Your Family’ Psalm 128:1 says: /“How blessed is everyone who fears the LORD, Who walks in His ways.”
/We need to model before our/ /families that true happiness and true fulfillment in life come from following Christ.
Billions are searching for happiness in all the wrong places;/ /true happiness comes in obeying our Creator!

Rejoice in God's Blessing.
As Psalm 128:26 puts it, “ \\ /When you shall eat of the fruit of your hands, You will be happy and it will be well with you.
Your wife shall be like a fruitful vine Within your house, Your children like olive plants Around your table.
Behold, for thus shall the man be blessed Who fears the LORD.
The LORD bless you from Zion, And may you see the prosperity of Jerusalem all the days of your life.
Indeed, may you see your children's children.
Peace be upon Israel!

Your children are "olive shoots," plants that will in time bear their/ /own fruit.
With these blessings, we should always live with a proper fear/ /of God, for God's blessings will ultimately rest on those who walk in His ways.
In light of these two Psalms, we have a choice to make.
We can either try to rely on our own feeble resources to build our homes, or we can surrender our false sense of control to a powerful and loving heavenly Father.
He gives us His promise: if we dedicate our homes to/ /Him, He will build our families and protect our families.
