The Problem with Time
** My kids often ask me, "When are going to do [some thing]?" "Can we [whatever] this afternoon?"
I hate these questions.
I hate them because I don't know.
I don't want to promise them something and then not come through on it.
I want to be able to tell them, but I have done so enough times when something came up that kept me from doing it.
I hate that because I want them to be able to count on their dad.
But the reality is, I don't know the future.
God does though.
But our problem goes a lot deeper than knowing if we will be able to play on the slip ‘n slide this afternoon.
