It’s A Love Thing - Family
Confession of Faith: I am not moved by what I see or by what I feel.
I am moved by what I believe.
I believe the WORD of God!
The victory is mine!
I have it now!
I can see it through the eyes of my faith!
Jesus Christ has set you and me free.
As a believer, we no longer have to work to secure God's approval and acceptance.
We are accepted – You have been accepted, by God through the work of Jesus Christ.
However, there is something you must always remember: Your liberty is not license in being free to sin, or to do as a you want.
Christian liberty is being free not to sin.
It is being free to overcome the passions and urges of the flesh that unceasingly wage war against your better judgment.
We must remain conscious of the indwelling Holy Spirit and His power!
That Power that is able to keep you from sin
Here’s my point, as believers
We do not WALK in sin,
We LOVE GOD
WE LOVE our Neighbors
We Walk and Live Under the Law of LOVE
There is liberty versus license.
We know that we can never become perfect, no matter how much good you and I do.
You cannot keep enough of the laws to make yourself right with God.
No matter what you try you will always be short of the mark of God.
If we are ever to be acceptable to God it has to be because Loves us enough!.
This is the Good News, God love us so much that
· he provided the perfect Situation for us to be in Right Standing with him
· He provided Someone to bear our punishment for violating the law
Here’s what we as believers stand on:
That God loves me – in spite of myself
If God can love me – I know he loves you
We know this truth and for some who may be skeptical about following Jesus know this .
• that Jesus Christ lived a sinless life and secured the ideal relationship between You and God.
• that Jesus Christ died for each one of us —died bearing the judgment of the law for us
The point is this: when a you believe this about Christ—that Jesus Christ is Your Savior—God takes your belief and counts it as righteousness.
That’s how we become acceptable to God.
We are not acceptable to God, because of the work we do, or that we become better in man’s eyes for keeping some law, rule or ritual!
We are acceptable to God, because Jesus Christ has set us free from the struggle to be good enough to be saved.
And always wondering if you have done enough well.
We no longer have to work religious laws to be saved
We are saved by the grace of God.
When he gave Jesus Christ, His Son for the world: by believing that Jesus Christ is our Savior—that Jesus Christ died for us
However, having said this, a couple of things I need to point out
1.
There is the danger of license – freedom that allows or is used with irresponsibility.
A question needs to be asked: if Christ sets us free from the law, does this mean that a person can believe in Christ and then go out and live like he wants, doing his own thing?
Can he or she use his-her liberty as an occasion to go out and satisfy the flesh knowing that God will forgive him-her?
Can a person continue to seek the things of the world and give way to the desires and lusts of his/her flesh?
Can we believe in Christ and still live in worldliness?
No! A thousand times no, The Word of God declares!
Anyone who thinks and stands by this type of thinking doesn’t understand belief—true belief.
In the Bible belief does not mean intellectual belief, or to just hold an opinion of something in your mind.
This type of Belief means a committed confidence that is unwavering, to believe something with one's life.
To believe Christ is to commit your life to Christ
Just think about it for a moment and it becomes perfectly clear: if a person is not willing to commit his or her life to Christ, he or she does not believe in Christ.
They could not believe, not really; for if he really believed, he would beyond all question give all he is and has to the Son of God.
There is the limitation of love.
Anyone who thinks that belief in Christ frees them and gives him authorization to sin does not understand what love is.
The true follower, a true believer is freed from having to secure God's approval by law, but LOVE is the one control that is placed upon us.
The only thing we need to flow in his LOVE.
There are at least two reasons for this.
God has loved us so the person who truly sees the love of God is drawn to love God and to love all God's creatures.
Love embraces all the commandments of God.
Jesus Himself said so
Love = Service: Love is serving one another.
When you are free in Christ:
There are no spiritual laws, restraints, and works.
We are under nothing, but Christ.
We live in Christ, We move and Our existence is in Jesus Christ.
My love for Jesus Christ is my law and restraint.
Why?
Because Jesus Christ loved me and you, served me and you and gave Himself for me and you!
We know this.
So when We love Christ with all our heart and life.
We want to please Jesus and do all we can to serve Him.
How can we serve Christ?
By doing exactly what Christ did: loving and serving others.
"By love serve one another."
When that is in operation – when we love like that We are not LORD’s OVER PEOPLE
We...
• serve and help
• show kindness and gentleness
• express concern and care
• demonstrate sympathy and empathy
The person who truly loves identifies with a person, gets down where they are, even below where they are, and ministers to them.
Love serves—always reaches out to do whatever it can for the other person.
It never withdraws from the other person, feeling that he or she...
• does not deserve the effort or help.
• is not worth the effort or help.
• is less than what he should be.
• is too derelict, immoral, uneducated, unrecognized, below others
Love: love is not offending but caring for your neighbor—caring as much as you care for oneself.:
⇒ If we cared for everyone else as much as we cared for ourself, we would need no law.
We would be living and doing exactly what we should.
This is the reason love fulfills all the law.
Love does not take advantage of other people.
Love will not use other people to fulfill your own purpose, greed, or lust.
Love will not hurt someone else any more than we would want someone to hurt us.
Love involves some very practical acts that are clearly spelled out in Scripture (
⇒ Love endures long and is patient.
⇒ Love is kind.
