Christians are set apart

Romans 12:1–21 KJV 1900
1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. 3 For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith. 4 For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office: 5 So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another. 6 Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith; 7 Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching; 8 Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness. 9 Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good. 10 Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another; 11 Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord; 12 Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer; 13 Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality. 14 Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not. 15 Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep. 16 Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits. 17 Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men. 18 If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men. 19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. 20 Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head. 21 Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.
Romans 12
Give your body to God
use it for Gods glory-our bodies are Gods temple because Gods spirit dwells in us 2 reasons for being a living sacrifice
it is the right thing to do for all that God has done for us.
reasonable service- every day is worship experience when your body is yielded to God.
Give God your mind
world wants to control your mind God wants to transform your mind
if the world controls your mind you a conformer
if God controls your mind you are a transformer
God transforms our mind and makes us spiritually minded by using his word
you give God your will
not my will, but thy will be done-Jesus. We can do the same
not my will, but thy will be done-
pray and let God have his way in everything
Spiritual gifts also.
name the gifts, we ALL have gifts (Christians that is)
1 Peter 4:10–11 KJV 1900
10 As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. 11 If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
1 Peter 4
1 Corinthians 12:7 KJV 1900
7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.
1 Cor
we must use our gifts with the spirit of LOVE
Gods will
the Christian who seeks to obey God is going to have enemies.
Jesus had enemies
Paul and the other apostles had enemies
Matthew 10:36 KJV 1900
36 And a man’s foes shall be they of his own household.
and some of these will be of your own household
some believers have enemies because they lack love and patience
as Christians don't be offensive in sharing the “cross” with people
return GOOD FOR EVIL takes love to do this and faith
we must give place to the wrath of God- don't use this in a vindictive or deceitful way .
Deuteronomy 32:35 KJV 1900
35 To me belongeth vengeance, and recompence; Their foot shall slide in due time: For the day of their calamity is at hand, And the things that shall come upon them make haste.
Deut 32:3
put it in Gods hands let God handle it.
Matthew 5:44–48 KJV 1900
44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; 45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. 46 For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same? 47 And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so? 48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.
Mat 5:
easy to read difficult to practice we need to pray and seek Gods guidance
in these situations we have must have faith in God in these situations
the only way to overcome evil is with good anyone can return good for good and evil for evil we must show that love we have to everyone even our enemies
Proverbs 25:21–22 KJV 1900
21 If thine enemy be hungry, give him bread to eat; And if he be thirsty, give him water to drink: 22 For thou shalt heap coals of fire upon his head, And the Lord shall reward thee.
