While no one can redeem themselves from death...GOD CAN REDEEM Someone from the dead.
The Psalmist doesn't want a long life....he wants an Eternal life.
Therefore why should he care whether or not someone is wealthy in this life or not?
He is thinking beyond wisdom and wealth and pleasure and actually understanding life in the perspective of eternity.

The Psalmist understand reality through the lens of the Bible and it gives him hope.
He understands God must ransom him and that being in His presence is better than anything in this world.
Jesus makes it clear that His coming and His death is to live out this understanding that God will save His people and He will pay their ransom.
