Jesus our Example
Jesus our Example
God has placed a calling in the life of each follower of Christ.
He has invested in us natural talents, Spiritual gifts and Practical abilities that we may serve Him effectively on this earth.
Yet it is so important to remember that He did not gave them to us, and left us to just figure it out ourselves.
Rather He gave us Jesus as an example to follow.
(John 13:15)
[1] When we look at Jesus ministry in the Gospels, we notice that before He began His public ministry, His life was already pleasing to the Father.
Where does Ministry start?
In our call to leadership the first thing that we ought to remember is that leadership does not start in the public place, but in the unseen, First in our personal lives, then at home, then in public ministry.
[2] When we look at Jesus ministry in the Gospels, we observe that His ministry did not start until after He had been filled with the Holy Spirit.
There are two ways to do things in ministry.
(What are the two ways people do ministry?)
1- in our own strength:
2- In His power: As we have been studying the book of Acts, we see what takes place when we let God do His work in us and through us.
[3] When we look at Jesus ministry in the Gospels, we see that He took upon Himself to make disciples, who would learn from Him and do practical ministry on His behalf:
Yet it is naive to thin, that there is no cost involve when it comes to serving Jesus, --Let me clarify this, He calls us to count the cost, and to make the deliberate decision to follow Him.
& here is the reason:
some one who wants to bring glory to Jesus, can not live for himself.
We are called to take up the cross daily, and turn from our selfish ways.
We are called to Live for Jesus and no longer for our selves:
Listen, if we as men, could simply grasp and understand what Jesus asking of us as we make this choice to follow Him, and if we took His calling for our lives seriously, we would be mind-blown at the things God can do and wants to do in us and through us.
He calls us to turn from our selfish ways, because Christianity is not about God living for Me, but about me living for Him.
This is important, because on a later day He would send out his disciples to preach and make disciples themselves, not of their own way, but of Jesus Christ.
& He calls them to do this, not in their own power and ability, but through the power of the Holy Spirit.
That is the very Example we received from.
Jesus came to lead us to the Father to do His father’s will.
QQ: Have you made that commitment to follow Jesus?
Have you counted the cost?
1st Timothy Chapter 1
Paul’s Calling and appointing: [Paul becomes a Disciple of Jesus, & following the command, He went out through out the nations, making disciples.
Two of the most noted ones are Titus & Timothy.
They stand out from the hundreds of people Paul impacted because of their Spiritual calling.
Paul saw Timothy as his son in the Faith because he had brought him to the Lord.
While Paul was preaching in the town of Lystra, where Timothy lived, the people of Lystra took Paul outside stoned him and left him for dead.
But the word tells us that Paul got up and came back into the town, preaching again.
Now on his way back, he hears about Timothy, and Paul takes him under his wing, because he longed to see him do well.
Timothy became a trusted co-worker of Paul in his endeavor to spread the Gospel.
He becomes a young Pastor, called to lead, to teach people the same Gospel that Paul taught, the same Gospel that he received from Jesus.
Paul invested in Timothy that he may become a good servant of Jesus.
& Now Paul tells him, it is time for you to stand up for good and sound doctrine:
This is the goal of discipleship, to train, to help you grow that you may answer God’s calling for your life.
Paul entrusted Timothy to stay behind and stop false teachers who taught contrary doctrines to the truth: False teachers.
Good biblical teaching will encourage people to Live a life of Faith.
It will encourage people to know God deeper.
Now Timothy, you stand in guard… --In the Old Testament, we find guards set on each entrance and exit of the temple.
They were there to protect the congregation from outside dangers. .
As a Disciple of Jesus Christ, as a leader in this local house of God, we need to be versed in scriptures, having a clear understanding of what the word of God teaches and doesn’t teach.
Be on Guard!!!
Satan uses False teachers and false doctrines, and all kinds of evil, predators, people who will take advantage of the week.
Listen, you are called to stand in guard, of the people: You & I need to be prepared, with knowledge of the Word and being filled with the Holy Spirit.
that we may be ready to protect, to guard, to keep the congregation safe from outside danger.
EX>> The Queen's Guard is the name given to soldiers charged with guarding the official royal residences.
While the Queen has a number of homes, the guards are only mounted at her official London residencies (Buckingham Palace and St James's Palace), as well as Windsor and Holyroodhouse in Scotland.Jun 26, 2015
because do not help people grow Spiritually.
Rather they are time wasters.

Unlike such aimless speculations, the intended result of Paul’s instruction to Timothy was love =agape, and the purest kind of love at that.
1:5.
Unlike such aimless speculations, the intended result of Paul’s instruction to Timothy was love, and the purest kind of love at that.
It is that love which pours naturally from a cleansed heart (cf.
), untainted conscience, and a sincere (anypokritou, “unhypocritical”; cf. ) faith.
Each member of this beautiful trio speaks of a purity and integrity which produces the most exquisite kind of selfless love, seen in its ultimate form in God’s love itself.
Whereas the false teachers were motivated by worthless curiosity, Paul’s instruction was designed to promote the most magnificent of virtues by maintaining the purity of the church’s teaching.
God’s truth always purifies the human spirit, while error putrifies it.

untainted a clear conscience: Not living in a way that internally you know you are not right before God.
Not hiding secrets before God.

They have gone astray, they have left the path completely.
They were trying to bring legalism, bring laws and rules to peoples walks with Jesus.
All the people who have not received the Gospel of Peace, the Gospel of Jesus Christ, today stand before God, as a judge.
Condemned by their actions in breaking God’s perfect law.
Listen, that is the reality of the Gospel.
Anyone and everyone, who have not received Jesus gift of salvation has condemned himself.
Are you ready to explain the Gospel to a lost person?
The Good news about Jesus gospel, it is that is not dependent on past perfect behavior, to achieve peace with God.
The good news is that everyone can be saved, and even greater, used by God, regardless of our past.
Does it mean that we should continue to sin, just because Jesus saved us when we were sinners?
no…
As a matter of fact, If you received Jesus as your savior, you have become a new creation, and the fruit of this new life should be reflected in the way you live:
EX>> Baby… Hungry… Development.
etc.
If you are living a life of sin, If sin doesn’t bother you, if sin doesn’t affect your “relationship with God” than you should question your salvation.
Be cause there is something wrong.
If you are not in fellowship, than you have to ask yourself, Lord what is wrong with me? why am I not hungry.
Listen, what if Paul would have said?=
“I was the worst of sinners, persecuted Christians, led riots to get them stoned, and I still do…”
That is simply an oxymoron.
To state to walk in the light, but live in darkness.
To say that we serve a Holy God, but live in the filth of sin.
EX1>> A man arrested on South Padre Island last week was recorded in a viral video screaming obscenities and phrases like, "Donald Trump will stop you," to a Muslim family on the beach.
Alexander Jennes Downing to a Muslim family vacationing on a South Padre Island beach… You can not F-up my “christianity”
