We are in the second week of a sermon series looking at the beatitudes.
My hope is that we could sit at the feet of Jesus… and soak in these truths. THAT we could read the words of Jesus as he teaches his disciples what it looks like to be a disciple. As he teaches them what it looks like to live as citizens of the Kingdom of Heaven… as part of Christ’s Kingdom!
Living as citizens of the Kingdom of Heaven is counter cultural to everything we are told and see.
Two Important Things We Must Remember:

The Sermon On The Mount reveals our need for the Gospel.

:1-
Matthew 5:1–5 NASB95
1 When Jesus saw the crowds, He went up on the mountain; and after He sat down, His disciples came to Him. 2 He opened His mouth and began to teach them, saying, 3 “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 4 “Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted. 5 “Blessed are the gentle, for they shall inherit the earth.
