I feel blessed that two years ago I got to celebrate mothers day in Wales and I attended a mothers day service just like this and it was awesome.
And now having spent the last three weeks with my parents… I got spend quality time with my mom and it was very special..I feel very grateful..and blessed. Moms are amazing…
we having spent the last three weeks with my parents… I got spend quality time with my mom and it was very special..I feel very grateful..and blessed. Moms are amazing… even when you all grown up they still care about your diet, your health and general well being.
When you think about what mothers do on a day in and out basis it’s truly amazing.. The roles of mom’s have changed over the last several decades and not only are moms managing children and homes but many are contributing financially to the home…they are also running business, working extra jobs, volunteering… we celebrate these moms.. for the gifts and abilities in juggling busy schedules and busy homes and still being good parents.

Then there are the stay at home moms..they are also our hero’s. Stay at homes moms often are making huge sacrifices and there is a selflessness that comes from these mom’s… choosing to be home with their children…is a huge blessing for their children and families.

Author and preacher Tony Campolo said that when his wife, Peggy, was at home full time with their children and someone would ask, "And what is it that you do, my dear?"
She would respond, "I am socializing two Homo sapiens into the dominant values of the Judeo-Christian tradition in order that they might be instruments for the transformation of the social order into the kind of eschatological utopia that God willed from the beginning of creation."
Then Peggy would ask the other person, "And what do you do?"

We thank you and celebrate and want to say thank you to all of you... Trust that you feel appreciated today.
This morning we are going to conclude a sermon series entitled Gifted. We have been talking about how God has uniquely gifted us as the church.. When Christ ascended he gave gifts to the church.. These gifts (graces) were given for the benefit and edification (building up) of the local church… When we talking about Discovering we talking about being good stewards of what has been given to us.
Our gifts are not for ourselves but they are for the benefit of others… We serve one another through the gifts.. It is how we express Christ’s love and concern to one another…

1 Peter 4:10–11 ESV

There are Three Principles from … The first is that we are to:
2 Timothy 1:6 ESV
For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands,

1. TAKE THE TIME TO DISCOVER YOUR GIFT

Discovery is something wonderful… Have you ever watch a toddler pick up a lady Bird, a cricket or examine a frog. When they pick up these little critters you have to say be gentile because you don’t want a fun learning experience to get ugly..
Peter tells us that each of us have Received a gift…
Children are created with innate desire for discovery and everything is an adventure… When it comes to our gifts and talents… there should be this sense of discovery… What is the gift mix that God has given you?
It is easy for us to neglect our gifts or for gifts to lie dormant.. The gifts that God have given are actually permanent… God does not give you a gift and take it away they are permanent..
- Peter tells us that each of us have Received a gift… .
- Peter tells us that each of us have Received a gift…
The verb received is written in the past tense and it implies that a transaction as already taken place - something has been given and something has been recieved… In other words, we are not waiting for a spiritual gift...… they have been given and received - they are in our possession.
Spiritual gifts are closely related to our talents and it can be a little confusing.
What often gets a little confusing is that ou Spiritual gifts are closely related to our talents… I love this Definition:
Simple Definition:
We have some
there is a changing of hands. God has given us a gift or gifts… they have been received and are in our possion..
“A spiritual gift is a talent or ability empowered by the Holy Spirit and able to be used in the ministry of the church.”
past tense transaction as already taken place - something has been given and something has been recieved… In other words, we are not waiting for a gift...… they have been received and the gift or gifts are in our possession.
As you look at the list of gifts - there is going to be at least one if not more that you have already recognize that you have. Some of us just love to entertain others and you look forward to that… Hospitality gift… On the other hand you may look through the list say come to: Mercy, administration, teaching .. and you already know that is not your strength.
The point of Discovery is that there may a gift that is not so obvious and you have either under estimated or under utilized the gift.
Your dominant gift can also overshadow some other of your gifts…
To may look through the list and lets say come to: Mercy, or administration, or some of the speaking gifts.. and already be aware that this is not one of the strength. Here is the other thing is that your dominant gifts might overshadow some other gifts… We need to realize that most of us have a gift mix and be open to discovering other strengths..
You have a spiritual gift.... God does not take this back.
The second principle

2. MOVE IN THE DIRECTION OF YOUR GIFT

1 Peter 4:10 ESV
As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace:
ESV As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace
Peter says Use it to serve others
We are to Use OUR Gift/ GIFTS to serve others
Have your ever been given something and then re-gifted it for someone else?
If you didn't regift it is somewhere in your house… laying a shelf or bottom draw a shed some place.
Every Birthday my aunt sends me a little calendar … (so don’t judge me) its a very nice sentiment.. To be honest I appreciate the gift, but have little use for it.
but here is the thing, I have all my appointments on my phone… I have tried to use a calendar but it just doesn’t work.
The difference between a gift and a Spiritual gift there always a need and a purpose for your gift… …
Peter says “Use it”. Put it into practice… You have to start doing it.. In other words move towards your gift… don’t pull away… actively pursue putting that gift to work…
Put it into practice… You have to start doing it.. In other words move towards your gift… don’t pull away… actively pursue putting that gift to work…
What often happens in Church is we want someone else to figure out our gift… We are just waiting for the right “opportunity.”
One word that will help in discovering your gift… Volunteer for Something.
Here is the problem… we tend to project onto others ---- Lets say you smile a lot… My first response is - I am wanting to make you a greeter… but .... that not be the way God has wired you
One word that will help in discovering your gift… Volunteer for Something.
Volunteer for Something.
I am wanting to make you a greeter… that not be the way God has wired you One word that will help in discovering your gift… Volunteer for Something.
“It is easier to discover your gift through ministry that to discover your ministry through your gift.”
I don’t mind someone trying a ministry and failing… Do it for a month an its not working out… Because that is part of the discovery
Here are three practical ways.

Through ONGOING MINISTRY

We have around 9 ministries in the church… Over the last few months we had a booth for each ministry..
Why we want you to be aware that we have missions team who meets monthly… ongoing youth program….

Through SHORT-TERM project

Excellent because it has a begining and an End…You are not stuck… Core team facilitator is a short term… 8 weeks and you are done.
Through SPONTANEOUS situations

Through SPONTANEOUS situations

Someone needs help a need right now… the usher overslept this morning… try it.
If you sense you have a ministry gift… begin to express it.. in various settings.
If you sense you have a ministry gift… begin to express it..
Express it in your home…
Express it at your work.....
Express it at church....
USE YOUR GIFT FOR OTHERS.
Peter says “use it” to “serve others” the word is diakoneo the word that we get deacons.. to serve (minister) v. — to attend to the wants and needs of others.
There is a Range of words that meanings in this word “serve”— it means to care for someone.... It means to manage something… It means to minister to someone .... It also means to wash someones feet.. Use your gift to help someone Practically or Spiritually...
to serve (minister) v. — to attend to the wants and needs of others.
In when the Greek widows were being overlooked in the daily distribution of food and it was causing a division between the Hellenists and the Hebrews…
Acts 6:1–4 ESV
Now in these days when the disciples were increasing in number, a complaint by the Hellenists arose against the Hebrews because their widows were being neglected in the daily distribution. And the twelve summoned the full number of the disciples and said, “It is not right that we should give up preaching the word of God to serve tables. Therefore, brothers, pick out from among you seven men of good repute, full of the Spirit and of wisdom, whom we will appoint to this duty. But we will devote ourselves to prayer and to the ministry of the word.”

These they set before the apostles, and they prayed and laid their hands on them.
There is basically a leadership crisis in the early church… as the church grew the ball was getting dropped… in the distribution of food for the widows. This was no small deal… it was causing division, plus some very practical needs were being overlooked.
Here is the issue..
take care of all the practical needs… What did they do they spread it out...
The twelve were struggling to properly prepare for the ministry of the word and take care of the people.
They could have taken the time to spread themselves thin… And you better believe there would be those widows who doted on the disciples… they are awesome… They do everything around here…
Bud Wilkerson was the former coach of the Oklahoma Sooners - was once asked is he felt that football was a good influence on American fitness.“In football you have 60 000 fans in the stands in desperate need for exercise watching 22 to players in desperate need for rest.”
“In football you have 60 000 fans in the stands in desperate need for exercise watching 22 to players in desperate need for rest.”

Good pastors and leaders will take time to Equip the saints for the work of ministry… .

Peter says:
If you give your time to one more than they other.. it is easy to become ineffectively.
sometimes you can to either one Okay… or both pretty ineffectively.
to visit with each of you..
there is always the tension between spiritual needs and caring… sometimes you can to either one Okay… or both pretty ineffectively.
1. Discover your gift.

3. LEARN TO DEPEND ON GOD WITH YOUR GIFT

What often gets is that our Spiritual gifts are closely related to our talents… listen to this definition of Spiritual gifts.
We are to do use our ministry through serving others and we are to be good stewards of our gifts. Stewardship means that we depend upon God and not on ourselves.. The purpose of our gifts is to bring glory to Him
“A spiritual gift is a talent or ability empowered by the Holy Spirit and able to be used in the ministry of the church.”
What I love about this definition is it points out the key difference between a gift and a talent… The difference is the “Empowerment by the Holy Spirit.” It might seem like a subtile difference but it’s huge… This is what Peter is saying..

is that we are Depending on God and not just our abilities…

The Bible Exposition Commentary Chapter Nine: The Rest of Your Time (1 Peter 4:1–11)

The phrase “oracles of God” in 1 Peter 4:11 does not suggest that everything a preacher or teacher says today is God’s truth, because human speakers are fallible. In the early church, there

We need
Peter tells us that is God who supplies the resources that fuel the gift - this is so important…The quickest way to get burned out in life is to depend on our own resources…
A father watched through the kitchen window as his small son attempted to lift a large stone out of his sandbox. The boy couldn’t get enough leverage to lift the rock over the side. Finally, he gave up and sat on the edge of the sandbox with his head in his hands.
“What’s wrong, Son? Can’t you lift that rock out?” the dad asked.
“No, sir,” the boy said, “I can’t do it.”“
“Have you used all the strength that’s available to you?” the father asked.
“Yes, sir,” the boy replied.
“A spiritual gift is a talent or ability empowered by the Holy Spirit and able to be used in the ministry of the church.”
“No, you haven’t,” the father said. “You haven’t asked me to help you.”

Notice that there are both serving gifts and speaking gifts mentioned.. The same principle applies to Both!

Over and over the Bible talks about our weakness and the strength of the Lord..
God supplies the gift and abilities to perform the work - this is so important… We will get tired and burnt out when we depend on our own skill sets… Over and over the Bible talks about the strength of the Lord.. God says to Joshua.

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might.

The puritan Pastor and theologian John Owen said
“We can have no power from Christ unless we live in a persuasion that we have none of our own.”

If God has called you speak… that may be to teach a lesson, preach a sermon, counsel a friend, mentor a disciple, lead a small group, facilitate a core group…
Peter says whether in Speaking or Service… (all the gifts fall into these categories) Do so in with God’s supply
If you teach a lesson, preach a sermon, counsel a friend, mentor a disciple, lead a small group, facilitate a core group… Do these so in the strength of the Lord…
teach a lesson
, preach a sermon, counsel a friend, mentor a disciple, lead a small group, facilitate a core group…
Do these so in the strength of the Lord… If you somewhere behind the scenes… you are serving snacks, doing AV, cooking a meal, feeding the homeless, you are giving gifts..… do it in His strength.. “the strength that God suppliers.”
If you somewhere behind the scenes… you are serving snacks, doing AV, cooking a meal, feeding the homeless, you are giving gifts..… do it in His strength.. “the strength that God suppliers.”
This word ‘supplies’ means - to transfer… We are just conduits of God’s grace to others… God supplies…
‘to provide for, to support, to supply the needs of, provision, support.
.
He Equips us and He fills us… into us...He quenches our thirst....
He pours … into us
‘to provide for, to support, to supply the needs of, provision, support...
He quenches our thirst....
Sometimes its worth to dig into a word in the scriptures.. the root word “Choregeo”… we get the word Choreograph or to dance… Here is a beautiful Picture.. Our gifts are to compliment each other..and it is God who “suppliers” (Choreographs) who puts the dance together...
— The questions with our gifts are often Who (who am I going to server), What - (what am I going to do - lots options out there) where (inside the church - outreach, men, youth) of ministry....
God brought me from South Africa to Northern Maine… I couldn’t have choreographed that… I learned how to snow blow and how to shovel snow off the roof, how to work a pellet stove…) Only God could have Choreographed that plan.
Choreograph or to dance… It is God who puts the dance together — The who, the what and the where of ministry.... I couldn’t have imagined the places where God has placed me… God Choreographs where our ministries will best function… God doesn’t put round pegs into square holes… He has the perfect match between a need and your gift...
who puts the dance together — The who, the what and the where of ministry.... I couldn’t have imagined the places where God has placed me… God Choreographs where our ministries will best function… God doesn’t put round pegs into square holes… He has the perfect match between a need and your gift...
… God Choreographs where our ministries will best function… God doesn’t put round pegs into square holes… He has the perfect match between a need and your gift… If we willing God can direct our steps… but it maybe unexpected.
God suppliers to us and out of the overflow of supply we minister to others… Our lives get full of his presence… full of his wisdom… full of his word....
The key to our effectives is doing ministry in the anointing and the ability of the Holy Spirit.

4. KNOWING THE SPIRITUAL GIFTS

Romans 11:29 ESV
For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.
Romans
When we pull back in our gifting as a congregation it affects the overall impact of the local church. So discovery of the gifts are important
1 Peter 4:10 ESV
As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace:
One way we can know our spiritual gifts is that it is a sweet spot. You know you have hit a sweet spot when your service becomes Effective, Easy and Effortless. If you are a greeter in the church and you find that it is difficult to get to church early… talking to people is a struggle and every week you are drained. That may not be the best place for you to serve.. Your sweet spot is where your God given strengths and passions intersect. When you
The goal this morning is not to be GIVE an exhaustive teaching on spiritual gifts… (there in no time for that)
b. Faithfulness is Required
1 Corinthians 4:1–2 ESV
This is how one should regard us, as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God. Moreover, it is required of stewards that they be found faithful.
1 Cor 4:1-
The goal this morning is not to be GIVE an exhaustive in teaching on spiritual gifts… You could take several weeks to accomplish that… The goal is simply to move us towards Activate the Gifts… somewhere between the teaching and the working of the Holy Spirit… Gifts will be discovered and that we will see fruit here in the local church.. Can you imagine what would happen if we served 10% more this year… but not only that we did it within our strengths… where we are gifted… Often the problem is that we are doing something we are not gifted in and it makes us miserable.
The gifts have been categorized in a number of ways… I am going to give us a simple acrostic as a basic framework.
c. Gifts are to be developed,
Paul encouraged Timothy to not neglect the gift that was imparted when he was set aside for ministry…
2. Overview of Spiritual gifts...
Can you imagine what would happen here if we mobilizing our church and got people in their various gift areas?
Simply to believe that God is going to Activate the Gifts… somewhere between the teaching and the working of the Holy Spirit… Gifts will be discovered and that we will see fruit here in the local church.. Can you imagine what would happen if we served 10% more this year… but not only that we did it within our strengths… where we are gifted… Often the problem is that we are doing something we are not gifted in and it makes us miserable.

If you have ever played golf or been to the driving range and you connect the ball just right… It feel so good… the connection is good… The ball goes towards the Pin… that is what will bring back for another game… There is a spiritual Sweet Spot with our gifts… it is where our strengths and passions intersect. There is a spiritual Sweet Spot with our gifts… it is where our strengths and passions intersect. The sweet spot is where our service becomes effective, easy and effortless. How do we get into this sweet spot??
Where our service becomes effective, easy and effortless. If your are involved in a ministry and it keeps on draining you… You have to ask is this really my prominent gift —
Need to know our Spiritual gift sweet spot.. This when your service becomes effective, easy and effortless.
This message is all about application… we can pull out all the charts and lists and everyone can look at them and do nothing with them. You might already done some “Spiritual Gift” test and its sitting somewhere in a bottom draw… We want to avoid that if possible… This morning I want you to ask this question (ready)
“How does my spiritual gift fit into my life story.” We were not spectators of the story but participants who were being asked to do something with this information. You gift is part of your make up of who you are..
3. Cluster Gifts
There is a lot of information on the gifts… It would take
We do this by asking this simple question.. “How does my spiritual gift fit into my life story.” We were not spectators of the story but participants who were being asked to do something with this information. You gift is part of your make up of who you are..
The goal this morning is not to be exhaustive in the teaching spiritual gifts… the end Zone is Simply to get us
I want to encourage you to change the lenses…
Often we hear information and we asking ourselves - We are interested in the application.. When it comes to our gifts, I want to encourage you to change the lenses…
e goal this morning is not to be exhaustive in the teaching… The goal this morning is simply to find out how the gifts fit into our life and or our story. Often we hear information and we asking ourselves - We are interested in the application.. When it comes to our gifts, I want to encourage you to change the lenses…
b. Consider How your spirtual gift fit s into your life story.. So if my spiritual gift is one of the Guiding gifts - (making things Happen)
and secondly to as the question--- How does this fit into my life story… There are lots of things going on in our lives… and we often hear sermons and are interested in the application. It is that so what question? We want to hear information that we can apply… With the spiritual gifts… I want to encourage you to change the lenses… and as the question
How do spiritual gifts apply to my story? If my gift is encouragement… How does that fit into my life story… If
How do I apply this truth into our lives. This morning I want to encourage you to change the lense… How do spiritual gifts apply to my story…
“How does my spiritual gift fit into my life story.” We were not spectators of the story but participants who were being asked to do something with this information. You gift is part of your make up of who you are..
or Support Gifts — (wisdom, knowledge) how does that look like on ongoing basis?
The gifts have been categorized in a number of ways… Just as a way of overview give an an acrostic as a framework for remembering different categories..
We were not spectators of the story but participants who were being asked to do something with this information.
Proverbs 18:16 ESV
A man’s gift makes room for him and brings him before the great.
We were not spectators of the story but participants who were being asked to do something with this information.
We were not asking how this alert applied to our children or to the safety of children in general. This was a call for us and for everyone else driving on that highway to do what we could to remedy the situation. While the chances were remote that we would see the wanted vehicle, we were implicated in this event nonetheless. It became our event, if even for a brief time.
We’ve all been in situations where we suddenly understood that our lives had just changed forever. Do your remember the day your went to the hospital and became a parent --- Big Day… I arrived at the hospital a boy and I left a man… I realized that I had a huge commitment… We have high School graduations… It’s bitter sweet we have Emma graduating.. … This is all part of our life story…
We understand that this new chapter in our story will require something of us—a change in our assumptions, our actions, our priorities. We don’t ask how do I apply this to my life?
When these situations arise, we don’t ask, “How does this apply to me?” We understand that this new chapter in our story will require something of us—a change in our assumptions, our actions, our priorities. The question of implication is not one made by a removed, objective decision maker but by a participant in the story
We understand that this new chapter in our story will require something of us—a change in our assumptions, our actions, our priorities. We don’t ask how do I apply this to my life?
How do the spiritual gifts fit in to your life story?
The gifts have been categorized in a number of ways… I am going to give us a simple acrostic as a basic framework.

Administration
This being said… it is important to note is that these are both gifts and offices… If God has called you to be a pastor or an evangelist… it is assumed that you would also have this Gift. On the other hand — your can have the gift without having the office.. There those gifted as pastors… who have a way with leading and caring for groups of people… or you have the gift of evangelism. You don’t have to be in a position or the office to exercise this gift.
This list of gifts in Ephesians is slightly different from the list in , and . Pastor (shepherd)
—is the God given ability to care for a group of believers....
The metaphor of a Shepherd implies- leading, caring for and protecting. They know their sheep by name… and the shee recognize the shepherd voice.. Dr. Laniak (lived a whole year with the Bedowin shepherds in Israel) told of a shepherd who one day lost one of his sheep at a local watering hole… and it took off withthe wrong heard… a year later at the same sheep recognized the shepherds and came back into his fold.

they could recognize them anyway.. This gift might be leading a small group or being a facilitator for Core group … Simply the ability to nurture and care for the welfare of other believers.
Teacher
is the Ability Teach sound doctrine and spiritual truth in relative ways.... There is a huge difference between saying something and having something to say.. Teachers impact people with truth… teachers are not satisfied with bodies.. in a room.. If someone is drifting in the back of the room they are fighting to get their attention… because of the urgency of the lesson. Good teachers are those who make you engage with the material in memorable ways..
I remember signing up for Church History and thinking - this is going to be boring.. Turns out That Dr. Garth Rossell was my favorite professor and Church History came alive.. I actually chose an ellective on first Century Christianity.. because his passion was infectious..

Leadership
We have Elder or Overseers in our Church… Part of the goal of leadership is to come up with a plan to disciple and grow the church body…
What is leadership? Leadership is the ability to get a group of people who otherwise would not be able to surmount a particular obstacle to do so. It’s an infectious vision gift that enables you to get people to do things otherwise they couldn’t do
leadership gift is the ability to Cast a competing God vision, and also apply strategies in achieving success where God’s purposes are concerned.
leadership Cast vision, apply strategies in achieving success where God’s purposes are concerned.
Here is a sure way that you know you are leader… you move towards chaos … Like Nehemiah you see the broken walls and your are moved to strategies and find a way to mend them.
You are never satisfied with the status qou — You are a change agent… You are always thinking what ought to happen… what ought to be...

Administration
Administration is the God given ability to serve and strengthen the body by effectively organizing resources and people in order to fulfill ministry goals.
What I have learned about Pam recently is she gifted in this area. It has always been in the home… but seeing this gift in operation as she plans various church activities
This gift strengthens the body of Christ by organizing resources and people in order to reach ministry goals… examples in scriptures are Martha and Joseph.
T/S We have the GUIDING GIFTS.
examples in scriptures are Martha and Joseph.
I find it helpful to see these as the foundational, or governmental, offices of the Church. The focus is thereby placed on gifted people who have been recognized in such official positions.

I - INFLUENCING GIFTS Communicating Gods word

1 Peter 4:10–11 ESV
As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace: whoever speaks, as one who speaks oracles of God; whoever serves, as one who serves by the strength that God supplies—in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. To him belong glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.
These are also leadership gifts that work hand in hand with communication.. Influence is the ability to effect others or events..

Someone with this gift are always looking for ways to share Christ with someone… Some of you remember Clyde Howell.. He went with the four Spiritual laws in his pocket … He lit up when he talked about faith… At 90 something he was leading people to Christ in the hospital.. That’s the gift of evangelism.. Remember the woman at the Well and went back and told her village to come and see Jesus who knew all about my life…
John 4:39 ESV
Many Samaritans from that town believed in him because of the woman’s testimony, “He told me all that I ever did.”

Preaching (prophesying)
- This is the ability to give messages from God that comfort, encourage, guide, warn and reveal sin that leads to repentance. It’s both preaching (forthtelling) and (foretelling) which is revelation.. Prophecy is always rooted in the scriptures… no new revelation… Examples are Deborah and John — writing the book of Revelations.

If you have this gift — people love to be around you... It is the ability to coordinate factors that promotes fellowship.

Giving
The gift of giving is more than tithes and offerings… This is the ability to support and fund various Kingdom initiatives through material contributions. Let me give you an extreme example of this gift.
A number of years ago the Bible college I attended had a problem with the campus- It was a beautiful campus located in Barrington RI (nice are in New England) But the buildings were old and and were needing over a million dollars in repairs. … David Green CEO of Hobby Lobby is philanthropist gifted the North Point college with a brand New Campus in Haverhill MA. 5. How do I start using my gifts?

Romans 12:1–3 ESV
I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. For by the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgment, each according to the measure of faith that God has assigned.
Romans 12
The goal of this sermon is simply to open up the door for the Holy Spirit to work and to to activate gifts… somewhere between the teaching and the working of the Holy Spirit…
Can you imagine what would happen here if we mobilizing our church and got people in their various gift areas?
If you have ever played golf or been to the driving range and you connect the ball just right… It feel so good… the connection is good… it a sweet spot...
There is a spiritual Sweet Spot with our gifts… it is where our strengths and passions intersect. The sweet spot is where our service becomes effective, easy and effortless. How do we get into this sweet spot??
We do this by asking this simple question.. “How does my spiritual gift fit into my life story.” We were not spectators of the story but participants who were being asked to do something with this information. You gift is part of your make up of who you are..
How do the spiritual gifts fit in to your life story?

1 Corinthians 13:1–3 ESV
If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give away all I have, and if I deliver up my body to be burned, but have not love, I gain nothing.
1 Corinthians 12:29–13:3 ESV
Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Do all work miracles? Do all possess gifts of healing? Do all speak with tongues? Do all interpret? But earnestly desire the higher gifts. And I will show you a still more excellent way.
