Luke 10:1–12 NCV
After this, the Lord chose seventy-two others and sent them out in pairs ahead of him into every town and place where he planned to go. He said to them, “There are a great many people to harvest, but there are only a few workers. So pray to God, who owns the harvest, that he will send more workers to help gather his harvest. Go now, but listen! I am sending you out like sheep among wolves. Don’t carry a purse, a bag, or sandals, and don’t waste time talking with people on the road. Before you go into a house, say, ‘Peace be with this house.’ If peace-loving people live there, your blessing of peace will stay with them, but if not, then your blessing will come back to you. Stay in the same house, eating and drinking what the people there give you. A worker should be given his pay. Don’t move from house to house. If you go into a town and the people welcome you, eat what they give you. Heal the sick who live there, and tell them, ‘The kingdom of God is near you.’ But if you go into a town, and the people don’t welcome you, then go into the streets and say, ‘Even the dirt from your town that sticks to our feet we wipe off against you. But remember that the kingdom of God is near.’ I tell you, on the Judgment Day it will be better for the people of Sodom than for the people of that town.
The Lord now chose seventy-two* other disciples and sent them ahead in pairs to all the towns and places he planned to visit. 2 These were his instructions to them: “The harvest is great, but the workers are few. So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send more workers into his fields. 3 Now go, and remember that I am sending you out as lambs among wolves. 4 Don’t take any money with you, nor a traveler’s bag, nor an extra pair of sandals. And don’t stop to greet anyone on the road. 5 “Whenever you enter someone’s home, first say, ‘May God’s peace be on this house.’ 6 If those who live there are peaceful, the blessing will stand; if they are not, the blessing will return to you. 7 Don’t move around from home to home. Stay in one place, eating and drinking what they provide. Don’t hesitate to accept hospitality, because those who work deserve their pay. 8 “If you enter a town and it welcomes you, eat whatever is set before you.Heal the sick, and tell them, ‘The Kingdom of God is near you now.’ 10 But if a town refuses to welcome you, go out into its streets and say, 11 ‘We wipe even the dust of your town from our feet to show that we have abandoned you to your fate. And know this—the Kingdom of God is near!’ 12 I assure you, even wicked Sodom will be better off than such a town on judgment day.
I Have noticed that so often in the Church we define good leadership by great preaching, teaching & gifts.. But i hate to burst bubbles but i can bring you to churches that have leaders & pastors that can preach you under a chair, but they are horrible leaders.. And then I can take you to Churches where the preaching isn't as good but the Leadership is stellar..
So what i would like to sow into your spirit is two words.. Competent & Committed..
What I have noticed in many churches is we have to either choose between having a competent leader or a commited leader.
So you have a competent leader but they are flaky, fair weather, tossed to and fro, prophet today, a rapper next week.. No commitment.. If you can keep them for 3 months out of the year of good stewardship without the disappearing acts your good.
Then you got the commited leader but they are mean as a riddle snake, don't have a drop of the pastors DNA, pastors Spirt or Character. And They struggle with the Kingdom
Assignment... Some times they have a rouge, cowboy or cowgirl spirt. They know the rules but they just don't apply to them..
So when you got leaders that are Competent & Committed you have to make sure they don't get contaminated..
So Repeat My Title Please:
The Next Top Leaders..
I believe the next TOP LEADER’s will need to be trained, mentored & developed by this generation of Pastors.
I would like t present you the Leadership Manuel in this text:
When God assigns a place he plans to visit he will send servants to survey the Land first . Verse 1 The Lord now chose seventy-two* other disciples and sent them ahead in pairs to all the towns and places he planned to visit.
Might i suggest that before we can have a visitation from the Lord, The Leadership has to be in place… (tap your neighbor and tell them get in place)
The Lord now chose seventy-two* other disciples and sent them ahead in pairs to all the towns and places he planned to visit.
Lk 10
Luke 10:2 NLT
These were his instructions to them: “The harvest is great, but the workers are few. So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send more workers into his fields.
There are great many people in This State to harvest we got casinos, strip Clubs, gay bars, drug dealers and drug users, mental health facilities, poor and homeless, wealthy & working as long as we have SIN we got harvest!!!
Tyndale House Publishers. (2013). Holy Bible: New Living Translation (). Carol Stream, IL: Tyndale House Publishers.
Jesus didn’t instruct them to pray for harvest he instructed them to pray for workers...
just incase your in this room and dont know whyJesus Has called for you to WORK… so work the fields…(an area of open land, especially one planted with crops or pasture, typically bounded by hedges or fences.)
Could you imagine that the reason why ministries are not growing like they should is because we got lazy workers that don’t go to the field...
Let me ask you whats your field????

2 These were his instructions to them:

Most unsatisfied, disgruntled workers are ones who don’t work in their field..
The Next Top Leader is working that thing.. helping folks, healing folks, and watch this.. And sending them to the Shepard so that they become part of the Flock. Not your flunky....
lk 10:3
Luke 10:3–4 NLT
Now go, and remember that I am sending you out as lambs among wolves. Don’t take any money with you, nor a traveler’s bag, nor an extra pair of sandals. And don’t stop to greet anyone on the road.
2. When Its time to work you
a. You Must Remember Who You Are (lambs) gentle, showing grace, loving..
b. don’t worry about how the ministry is goin to be financed or what to wear or carry. God has already set provision
c. Don’t be side tracked by people who have been assigned to meet you on the road to your destiny and hold you up.. tap your neighbor and say keep it moving…
3. When you enter someone’s Home/Ministry
a. First say, May Gods peace be on to this House
And so if you speak Peace bring Peace don’t be causing chaos and confusion.. And if peace isn’t there the blessing will return to you.
b. Remain Settled moving from church to Church ain’t cool, eat and drink what they provide & be receptive.
c. Eat What ever is set before you, this isn’t the season to be picky.. Learn How be satisfied..
d. Bring healing to the people… & Tell Them The Kingdom of God is near...
e. And If Your Not Received wipe the dust of the town off your feet. Or Kick Rocks.. tap 3 people and tell them if they don’t want what your offering Kick Rocks get up out of there someone wants what you got!!!
Within This Text I need to pull out that there are several factors In becoming The Next Top Leader…
Your ability To Listen and Follow instructions
Luke 9:1–6 NLT
One day Jesus called together his twelve disciples and gave them power and authority to cast out all demons and to heal all diseases. Then he sent them out to tell everyone about the Kingdom of God and to heal the sick. “Take nothing for your journey,” he instructed them. “Don’t take a walking stick, a traveler’s bag, food, money, or even a change of clothes. Wherever you go, stay in the same house until you leave town. And if a town refuses to welcome you, shake its dust from your feet as you leave to show that you have abandoned those people to their fate.” So they began their circuit of the villages, preaching the Good News and healing the sick.
lk 9:1
If you noticed Jesus instruction to the 72 was same he had given to the 12. But he gave the 12 Power he didnt give to the 70..
2. Your Ability To Follow
2. Your Ability To Follow The Leader..
lk 9.
Luke 9:23 NLT
Then he said to the crowd, “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must turn from your selfish ways, take up your cross daily, and follow me.
following leadership requires turning from selfishness and growing into selflessness..
Luke 9:57–62 NLT
As they were walking along, someone said to Jesus, “I will follow you wherever you go.” But Jesus replied, “Foxes have dens to live in, and birds have nests, but the Son of Man has no place even to lay his head.” He said to another person, “Come, follow me.” The man agreed, but he said, “Lord, first let me return home and bury my father.” But Jesus told him, “Let the spiritually dead bury their own dead! Your duty is to go and preach about the Kingdom of God.” Another said, “Yes, Lord, I will follow you, but first let me say good-bye to my family.” But Jesus told him, “Anyone who puts a hand to the plow and then looks back is not fit for the Kingdom of God.”
lk 57:
3. Your Submission To Leadership:
Luke 10:3–4 NLT
Now go, and remember that I am sending you out as lambs among wolves. Don’t take any money with you, nor a traveler’s bag, nor an extra pair of sandals. And don’t stop to greet anyone on the road.
Lk 10:3
Submission: Requires you to give in to the way you think, see or believe and trusting something and yielding to a superior authority of another person.
Lambs among Wolves: If you can trust leadership when your defenseless without complaining, you then move to the next level of leadership
