This sermon will change your life
God wants a relationship with you and until you get the idea of prayer, your relationship with God will never be what He intends it to be.
This message is for each and every one of you as individuals.
This message is for me.
Start at the end.
This is the most important message
Amen.
“so be it” “truth”
How not to pray
Matthew 6:5-
The Lords prayer
We turned it into meaningless repetition
Fatherly side note:
I don’t have a great relationship with my father and he doesn’t know me.
This was a hang-up for me in my relationship with God.
Kids wont tell their parents what the problem really is.
I was bad about this.
Gripes go up
Do you complain to God?
Kids only call when they need something
Do they love you, or are they just using you?
Foxhole prayer over and over again.
God knows your heart.
If your prayer life never gets deeper than you asking God for stuff, then you are missing out.
The heart of God
Kids wont tell their parents what the problem is.
What is Good is not always what you want
God will be and enabler
There are things that will inhibit your prayers
Psalms66:
When my kids call
They call to tell me, “Dad, I love you and trust your judgement, can I ash your advise?”
They are acknowledging that they know I love them and have their best interest at heart.
They are acknowledging that they trust me.
They call just say hi.
When is that last time that you spent time with God just to say hi?
Close
Saved: Spend time alone with God in prayer.
Unsaved: Pray that God would reveal himself to you
