Misadventures: Train Up Child
I believe that knowing the Bible is important for all of us.
The more we know of it, the better off we are, but we also live in a time where we pull out bits and parts of the bible for purposes we might want.
Since its Mother’s Day, I wanted to begin this series with a verse that I have watched many Moms and parents use to ask where they went wrong.
22:6  Train up a child in the way he should go;
even when he is old he will not depart from it.
A guarantee or a general principle?
problem #1 - guilt
problem #2 - false assumptions

4 “Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.

an alternate reading of proverbs 22:6
“Let a child do what they want and they will become self-willed and incapable of change”
15  Folly is bound up in the heart of a child,
but the rod of discipline drives it far from him.

In either case, discipline is important, but it should be guided in love.
Now love does not mean there isn’t anger; it just means we understand how and when.
For instance, We believed in the power of the wooden spoon, but there were only a handful of circumstances for which it could be used.
One such matter was defiance and the other was lying.
Either of those two things
