Goal:
The ultimate goal of a care group leader is to help individuals in their group experience genuine spiritual growth (Quality growth) and gospel growth (quantity growth).
In doing so, care group leaders strive to do their part to help people grow in their love for the Lord (heart) and understanding of God (head), as they are challenged, empowered, and encouraged to live righteously for Christ (hands) and faithfully contribute to the advancement of his kingdom (harvest).
Primary task:
The primary task of a care group leader is to develop and lead a community of people who participate in genuine mutual ministry and multiplication ministry together.
By loving, leading, encouraging and praying for the members of their care group, leaders hope to create a community that "Spurs one another on" towards 1.) more fully reflecting the lateness of Jesus Christ, and 2.) impacting the world for the glory of God.
Responsibilities:
Maintain a Christian lifestyle that is a godly example and above reproach.
Commit the ministry to prayer.
Provide intentional, godly leadership that promotes the goals of FBR (spiritual growth and gospel growth).
Provide intentional, godly leadership that pursues the ministry message of the care group ministry (mutual ministry and multiplication ministry).
Organize, prepare and lead care group meetings.
Provide overall care for your small group.
This includes ministering to the needs of group members by praying with/for them, sharing meals,sending cards, making phone calls, offering counsel, resolving group conflicts, helping members in crisis, ETC.
Know your people and keep watch over the quality of their spiritual lives.
Intervene when necessary to conference in and challenge people towards more righteous living.
Report serious Pastoral matters to Pastor Joel.
Faithfully participate in care group leadership meetings.Work together with Pastor Joel to promote the goals of the care group ministry within your group (spiritual growth and gospel growth), and continually develop your skills as a care group leader.
