Noah was a righteous man.
He was a good moral man, marked by clean and righteous living.
We should be careful, though, or we will think that Noah was self-righteous and therefore God was impressed with Him.
Righteous living is the fruit of knowing the Lord not the root of it.
In other words, we live for the Lord because we KNOW the Lord, not in hopes of being accepted, but because we are accepted.
Noah stood out among his peers
Both the Old and New Testament places great value and emphasis on how we conduct ourselves in life.
When the KJV uses “perfect” it is not saying that Noah was morally flawless, but that he was complete in the blameless way he conducted his life.
All of us have run across people like this.
They are few and far between.

Just as Enoch did, now the Bible tells us Noah did .
But God didn’t bring Noah to heaven without dying like he did Enoch, instead He gave Noah something to do.
Let me just say, Enoch is the exception, and perhaps Noah is the rule.
When you walk close and clean with the Lord, He will give you something to do.
A God sized task.

God has a lot to say to Noah.

I’ve decided to judge the world.
Make and ark for yourself just so.
I am bringing a floor to destroy everything.
I am making a covenant with you.
Bring clean and unclean animals with you.
Bring food.
It occurred to me several years ago that people were claiming God was telling them to do things, I’m not sure He was telling them to do.
God speaks today through His Word.

Noah obeyed God
Noah is not the point of the story.
He’s the servant to the point.
They point of the story is that God rules.
He is Lord over His creation.
He can do with it as He sees fit.
He doesn’t owe the world an explanation or an apology.
He’s not looking for a debate, but obedience.
Genesis
Again, Noah’s obedience did not bring God’s favor.
Noah found grace in the eyes the Lord, and God spoke.
Our faith and our works go hand in hand.
Works do not produce faith.
But biblical faith works.
He was righteous or just.
Noah was marked by good, clean, moral living.
Perfect (complete) among his peers.
This is not perfect in the sense of without flaw, but complete, and blameless.
He was morally excellent in the way he conducted himself among people.
No one could have laid a legitimate charge against Noah.
He walked with God.
Verse 8 says Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord.
Let’s be careful not to think that God is playing favorites.
Hebrews tells us Noah had faith.
God responds to our faith in Him.
He delights in our desire to walk with Him.
God gives grace to the humble, but resists the proud.
