! WHY JESUS?

The whole of the Old Testament speaks of the coming of the Son of God, The Messiah.

The book of Isaiah goes even further and prophesys that the Son of God would die for the iniquities of the whole world and goes on to tell about the way that the Son of God was to die.

Isaiah 52:14      Just as many were astonished at you, so His visage was marred more than any man, and His form more than the sons of men.

This is not the picture of the crucifixion that we are used to seeing.

The picture is that of a man beyond recognition as a man.

 

1 Peter 2:24     Who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness-- by whose stripes you were healed.

Ephesians 2:8   For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God.

Romans 4:        2          For if Abraham was justified by works, he has something to boast about, but not before God.

3          For what does the Scripture say? "Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness."

4                    Now to him who works, the wages are not counted as grace but as debt.

Galatians 1:14   And I advanced in Judaism beyond many of my contemporaries in my own nation, being more exceedingly zealous for the traditions of my fathers.

John 3:             3          Jesus answered and said to him, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God."

4          Nicodemus said to Him, "How can a man be born when he is old?

Can he enter a second time into his mother's womb and be born?"

5          Jesus answered, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.

John 3:             16        "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

17        "For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.

John 14:6         Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life.

No one comes to the Father except through Me.

 

 

Acts 4:             10        "let it be known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, by Him this man stands here before you whole.

11        "This is the `stone which was rejected by you builders, which has become the chief cornerstone.'

12                "Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given

among men by which we must be saved."

Romans 10:      9          that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

10        For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Romans 10:13  For "whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved."
