! WHY JESUS?
The whole of the Old Testament speaks of the coming of the Son of God, The Messiah.
The book of Isaiah goes even further and prophesys that the Son of God would die for the iniquities of the whole world and goes on to tell about the way that the Son of God was to die.
Isaiah 52:14      Just as many were astonished at you, so His visage was marred more than any man, and His form more than the sons of men.
This is not the picture of the crucifixion that we are used to seeing.
The picture is that of a man beyond recognition as a man.
 
1 Peter 2:24     Who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness-- by whose stripes you were healed.
Ephesians 2:8   For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God.
Romans 4:        2          For if Abraham was justified by works, he has something to boast about, but not before God.

Romans 10:      9          that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
10        For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Romans 10:13  For "whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved."
