SET SCENE OF JESUS PRAYING IN THE GARDEN...

John 17:24 ESV
Father, I desire that they also, whom you have given me, may be with me where I am, to see my glory that you have given me because you loved me before the foundation of the world.
AND IS IT POSSIBLE THAT JESUS GOES BACK TO WHEN HE CAME INTO JERUSALEM?

And so we pick up in

NEAR TO JERUSALEM… (11:1)

This is where Jesus was going to be crucified...
This is where Jesus experience complete abandonment, even from the Father
FROM THE CROSS: “My God, My God, why have you forsaken me?”
AND HE DREW NEAR TO IT!!!

WHEN JESUS DIRECTS YOU TO DO “THAT” (11:2-3)

AND THEY OBEYED (11:4-6)

THE CROWDS GO CRAZY!!!

UNDERSTAND THIS: It may seem like God forgets, but he always fulfills his promises.
Exodus 3:
Daniel 9:24–25 ESV
24 “Seventy weeks are decreed about your people and your holy city, to finish the transgression, to put an end to sin, and to atone for iniquity, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal both vision and prophet, and to anoint a most holy place. 25 Know therefore and understand that from the going out of the word to restore and build Jerusalem to the coming of an anointed one, a prince, there shall be seven weeks. Then for sixty-two weeks it shall be built again with squares and moat, but in a troubled time.
Exodus 3:7–8a ESV
Then the Lord said, “I have surely seen the affliction of my people who are in Egypt and have heard their cry because of their taskmasters. I know their sufferings, and I have come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians and to bring them up out of that land to a good and broad land, a land flowing with milk and honey, to the place of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Amorites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites.
Daniel 9:24–26 ESV
24 “Seventy weeks are decreed about your people and your holy city, to finish the transgression, to put an end to sin, and to atone for iniquity, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal both vision and prophet, and to anoint a most holy place. 25 Know therefore and understand that from the going out of the word to restore and build Jerusalem to the coming of an anointed one, a prince, there shall be seven weeks. Then for sixty-two weeks it shall be built again with squares and moat, but in a troubled time. 26 And after the sixty-two weeks, an anointed one shall be cut off and shall have nothing. And the people of the prince who is to come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary. Its end shall come with a flood, and to the end there shall be war. Desolations are decreed.
So look at this...
From the time to rebuild Jerusalem until the coming of the “anointed one” there would be 7 weeks & 62-weeks
So there will be 7 7 year periods = 49 years
Then there will be 62-7 year periods = 434 years
TOTAL = 483 years
March 14, 445 BC (based on ) orders were given to rebuild Jerusalem and it’s walls.
Nehemiah 2:1–2 ESV
1 In the month of Nisan, in the twentieth year of King Artaxerxes, when wine was before him, I took up the wine and gave it to the king. Now I had not been sad in his presence. 2 And the king said to me, “Why is your face sad, seeing you are not sick? This is nothing but sadness of the heart.” Then I was very much afraid.
SO LETS DO THE MATH...
Jewish calendar uses a 360 day calendar.
So 483 x 360 = 173,880 days
NOW CONVERT IT TO OUR CALENDAR
173,880 / 365.25 = 476 years
Count 476 years and you land on 32AD
Count 173,880 you land on Palm Sunday, 32 AD
WHAT’S THE POINT?
Exodus 3:
Exodus 3:7–8 ESV
7 Then the Lord said, “I have surely seen the affliction of my people who are in Egypt and have heard their cry because of their taskmasters. I know their sufferings, 8 and I have come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians and to bring them up out of that land to a good and broad land, a land flowing with milk and honey, to the place of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Amorites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites.
BACK TO JESUS IN THE GARDEN...
John 17:24 ESV
24 Father, I desire that they also, whom you have given me, may be with me where I am, to see my glory that you have given me because you loved me before the foundation of the world.
