Target Living God
Interacting with God.

January 12, 2007

Intro.

Phil. 3:14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

Phil.3:17 Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an ensample.

A Mark is a goal which controls one’s whole life.

“to hold something before one as a model on the basis of the inspection,”

A.-ligning your Priorities.
I. -Jan. 14th. Interacting with God.

M.- Jan. 21st  Maneuvering with People

E.- Jan. 28th  Enjoying your Employment

This  exact word that Paul uses as the mark or target  in Phil. 3:14 that is worthy of controlling his life… is also used… in  2 Cor. 4:18

2 Cor.4:18 as we look (mark, target) not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.

Now this gets a little sticky.. to engage in Target living as a Christian… we have to understand.. our target what we set our sights on.  Are you ready for this..What we steady, our aime on.. is invisible..

Notice the role of the invisible in the life of the Christian…
2 Cor. 4:18

Heb 11:1 Now faith is the substance  of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.[1]

Heb.11: 27 By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible.

1 Tim 1:17 Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Our target our aim.. is on an invisible God, and invisible salvation, a invislbe salvation.

That is what being a person of faith is about..

Even though we have never seen it we Know there are Angels in the invislbe real as well as spirits of just men made rightiois, demons, satan, mansions.. there is an invislbe world…

Plato understood in part about the unseen world .. as he taught the unseen world was more real then then the one we know… what we see to plato was merely the saddows dancing off the real images that we can’t see..

Even through we set our eyes on an invisible … make no mistakes portholes from the invisible to the visible… that have been a bridge for the unseen world to be made real in the seen..

Rom 1:20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse

Ro 8:24, For yin this hope we were saved. Now zhope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for what he sees? 25 But if we hope for what we do not see, we await for it with patience

Col 1:15  Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature

Rom.. chapter one.. gives some harsh worlds for those who fail to make their aim the Invisible God..

Rom. 1: 28 Furthermore, since they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, he gave them over to a depraved mind, to do what ought not to be done

John 14;6  Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

You get to the invislbe father though Jesus and as you follow Jesus you will find the unseen life of God flowing, permeating, filters flooding entering your everyday life though the following entrance points on your targe..

When he was not far from the house, the centurion sent friends, saying to him, “Lord, fdo not trouble yourself, for I am not worthy to have you come under my roof. 7 Therefore I did not presume to come to you. But gsay the word, and let my servant be healed. 8 For I too am a man set under authority, with soldiers under me: and I say to one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and to another, ‘Come,’ and he comes; and to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.” 9 When Jesus heard these things, hhe marveled at him, and turning to the crowd that followed him, said, “I tell you, not even in Israel have I found such ifaith.” 10 And when those who had been sent returned to the house, they found the servant well. Heb 11:27     By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible.

Larry Bassham..

Seven Principles of Mental Management:

1 When the  mind has a positive thought it cannot at the same time be thinking negatively

You cannot think about two things at once..

Rom. 1:20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse

.

2 What you picture is critical

introspective. And reflective…

.  21 For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22 Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools 23 and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like mortal man and birds and animals and reptiles

3 Your invisible world  is the source of all real power
What you feed your mind is your power supply..

The invisible world moves you to do whatever the conscious mind is calling for.

fixing your conscious mind on God releases the ways of God in your mind.

. 2

4 You can replace the self image you have with the self image you want, and, therefore, Permanently change performance

God is transformation.

25 They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen.

26 Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones.

5. When the conscious, invisible  and self image are balanced and working together good performances are effortless

Love the Lord with all your mind…

Prov. 23:7 For as a man thinketh in his heart, so is he

6. The more we think about, talk about, or write about something happening we improve the probability of that thing happening.

Joshua 1:8  This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

6 I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile. 17 For in the gospel a righteousness from God is revealed, a righteousness that is by faith from first to last,a just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith.[9]

7.  We value things in direct proportion to the price we pay for them

Heb. 11:2 By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible
