The crowd was greeting Jesus as the Messiah.

Jesus Cleanses the Temple
Matthew 21:12-
The money-changers were ripping of the people.
They were taking advantage of the sacrificial system.
This is not what sacrifices were meant to be about.
No one was meant to profit off of their religion.
Jesus Heals
Matthew 21:14-
Jesus restores the temple to it’s original intent.
The blind and lame would normally beg outside of the temple.
They would not be allowed in - they were unclean.
This ticked off the priests and scribes - they were making money and they had things set up exactly the way they wanted.
“Do you hear what these are saying?”
They wanted Jesus to silence the children because they were “blaspheming”
But Jesus confirms that He is the Messiah.
