The Door

John 10:7 NKJV

Then Jesus said to them again, “Most assuredly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep.

The next verse begins to talk about Jesus as the good Shepherd…

The statement “I am the door,” is found in verse 7 and again in verse 9.

These “I AM” proclamations point to His unique, divine identity and purpose.

In this “I AM” statement, Jesus colorfully points out for us the exclusive nature of salvation by saying that He is “the door,” not “a door.”

========================================

The Word - a short insert!

it is eternal

it is timeless

It is fixed and steadfast

it is settled.

Psalm 119:89 NKJV

Forever, O Lord,

Your word is settled in heaven.

John 1:1–2 NKJV

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God.

His very own Word. You see, God’s Word and God are perfectly equal.

They’re inseparable, united, and one.

God’s Word emanates from His very being.

It’s not something that describes God, but something that is God. When God speaks, He releases Himself.

Simply put, God’s Word releases God.

Whenever God speaks, He releases whatever is in Him.

There is no difference between God and His Word!

It means that as God is, so is His Word. As the Word is, so is God.

The Word of God is not something that’s natural,

but is something that’s absolutely unequivocally supernatural!

The Word of God is a He!

It (He) existed from before the foundation of the world

It (He) brought everything into being!

Hebrews 11:3 NKJV

By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.

The Rehma Word. —- Coming from the Logos Word

John 1:1–3 NKJV

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God.

All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.

Psalm 33:6 NKJV

By the word of the Lord the heavens were made,

And all the host of them by the breath of His mouth.

Behold the true nature of His Word. His gentle but powerful voice declares in the hearts of the seeking that the Bible is more than meets the natural eye.

John 1:14 NKJV

And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

2 Peter 1:20–21 NKJV

knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation, for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.

2 Timothy 3:16–17 NKJV

All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.

In the dictionary…

A Door — is a moving structure used to block off, and allow access to, an entrance to a building. Doors normally consist of a panel that swings on hinges on the edge. Similar exterior structures to doors are called gates.

If you do a google search for doors ——-

there are all kinds of doors - stone - iron - wood - plain - fancy

When open, doors admit people, or light.

Many doors are equipped with locking mechanisms to allow entrance to certain people and keep out others.

As a form of courtesy and civility, people often knock before opening a door and entering a room.

.

Matthew 7:8 NKJV

For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.

Doors are used to screen between areas of a building for aesthetics, keeping formal and utility areas separate.

Doors also have an aesthetic role in creating an impression of what lies beyond.

Doors are often symbolically endowed, and the guarding or receiving of the keys to a door, or being granted access to a door can have special significance.[1]

Doors and doorways frequently appear in metaphorical or allegorical situations, literature and the arts, often as a portent of change.

==

This kind of sheep pen was in the countryside, where the shepherds would keep their flocks. This type of sheep pen was nothing more than a rough circle of rocks piled into a wall with a small open space to enter. Through it the shepherd would drive the sheep at nightfall. Since there was no gate to close—just an opening—the shepherd would keep the sheep in and wild animals out by lying across the opening. He would sleep there, he would literally become the door to the sheep.

===============

I thought about doors and

The door is a point of access - a point of entrance - to somewhere

it marks the separation point between lack and supply

it opens the way of access for provision to all that is inside

Let me ask you….

What is behind Door #1— Jesus ??

A locked door is a barrier to entry or access

A shut door can be opened to gain entry

An open door is an entrance - an easy entrance

The Door in (named Jesus) is NEVER locked!

John 10 NKJV

“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who does not enter the sheepfold by the door, but climbs up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber. But he who enters by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. To him the doorkeeper opens, and the sheep hear his voice; and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. And when he brings out his own sheep, he goes before them; and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice. Yet they will by no means follow a stranger, but will flee from him, for they do not know the voice of strangers.” Jesus used this illustration, but they did not understand the things which He spoke to them.

Then Jesus said to them again, “Most assuredly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep. All who ever came before Me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not hear them. I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture. The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

“I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep. But a hireling, he who is not the shepherd, one who does not own the sheep, sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep and flees; and the wolf catches the sheep and scatters them. The hireling flees because he is a hireling and does not care about the sheep. I am the good shepherd; and I know My sheep, and am known by My own. As the Father knows Me, even so I know the Father; and I lay down My life for the sheep. And other sheep I have which are not of this fold; them also I must bring, and they will hear My voice; and there will be one flock and one shepherd.

“Therefore My Father loves Me, because I lay down My life that I may take it again. No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down of Myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This command I have received from My Father.”

Therefore there was a division again among the Jews because of these sayings. And many of them said, “He has a demon and is mad. Why do you listen to Him?”

Others said, “These are not the words of one who has a demon. Can a demon open the eyes of the blind?”

Now it was the Feast of Dedication in Jerusalem, and it was winter. And Jesus walked in the temple, in Solomon’s porch. Then the Jews surrounded Him and said to Him, “How long do You keep us in doubt? If You are the Christ, tell us plainly.”

Jesus answered them, “I told you, and you do not believe. The works that I do in My Father’s name, they bear witness of Me. But you do not believe, because you are not of My sheep, as I said to you. My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand. I and My Father are one.”

Then the Jews took up stones again to stone Him. Jesus answered them, “Many good works I have shown you from My Father. For which of those works do you stone Me?”

The Jews answered Him, saying, “For a good work we do not stone You, but for blasphemy, and because You, being a Man, make Yourself God.”

Jesus answered them, “Is it not written in your law, ‘I said, “You are gods” ’? If He called them gods, to whom the word of God came (and the Scripture cannot be broken), do you say of Him whom the Father sanctified and sent into the world, ‘You are blaspheming,’ because I said, ‘I am the Son of God’? If I do not do the works of My Father, do not believe Me; but if I do, though you do not believe Me, believe the works, that you may know and believe that the Father is in Me, and I in Him.” Therefore they sought again to seize Him, but He escaped out of their hand.

And He went away again beyond the Jordan to the place where John was baptizing at first, and there He stayed. Then many came to Him and said, “John performed no sign, but all the things that John spoke about this Man were true.” And many believed in Him there.

it not even shut

it is always open!

Revelation 3:7–8 NKJV

“And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write,

‘These things says He who is holy, He who is true, “He who has the key of David, He who opens and no one shuts, and shuts and no one opens”: “I know your works. See, I have set before you an open door, and no one can shut it; for you have a little strength, have kept My word, and have not denied My name.

John 10:9 NKJV

I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture.

salvation — healing — deliverance

it is only “BY ME”

… a thought. —Bill Johnson

Matthew 7:13 NKJV

“Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it.

It says…

The gate- Door -to salvation is narrow — only Jesus!

but once you enter in the road expands …

it is wide and beautiful

it is filled with all of God’s Kingdom

,

Psalm 23:2 NKJV

He makes me to lie down in green pastures;

He leads me beside the still waters.

Psalm 23:5 NKJV

You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;

You anoint my head with oil;

My cup runs over.

Look at what these passages say…. About our Door - point of Access

Progression…. of access

Romans 5:1–2 NKJV

Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

We have access by faith into grace and hope — salvation in Christ

Ephesians 2:18 NKJV

For through Him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father.

We have access to the Father through the Door — Christ

Ephesians 3:11–12 NKJV

according to the eternal purpose which He accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord, in whom we have boldness and access with confidence through faith in Him.

We have boldness and confidence in our access — through Christ

THE access" (Greek) implies the formal introduction into the presence of a monarch.

Hebrews 4:16 NKJV

Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

Hebrews 10:19–20 NKJV

Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh,

==============================

But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, “Take heart. I AM. Do not be afraid.”

for they all saw him and were terrified. But immediately he spoke to them and said, “Take heart. I AM. Do not be afraid.”

Many will come in my name, saying, ‘I AM!’ and they will lead many astray.

And Jesus said, “I AM. And you will see the Son of Man seated at the right hand of Power, and coming with the clouds of heaven.”

And he said, “See that you are not led astray. For many will come in my name, saying, ‘I AM!’ and, ‘The time is at hand!’ Do not go after them.

So they all said, “Are you the Son of God, then?” And he said to them, “You say that I AM.”

Jesus said to her, “I AM — the one speaking to you.”

But he said to them, “I AM. Do not be afraid.”

I told you that you would die in your sins, for unless you believe that I AM you will die in your sins.”

So Jesus said to them, “When you have lifted up the Son of Man, then you will know that I AM, and that I do nothing on my own authority, but speak just as the Father taught me.

Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM.”

I am telling you this now, before it takes place, that when it does take place you may believe that I AM.

They answered him, “Jesus of Nazareth.” Jesus said to them, “I AM.” Judas, who betrayed him, was standing with them.

When Jesus said to them, “I AM,” they drew back and fell to the ground.

Jesus answered, “I told you that I AM. So, if you seek me, let these men go.
