The writer of Hebrews is talking about confidence to enter the holy places...
Confidence to be in the presence of God
Having assurance that we stand before God accepted, and clean.
In the Old Testament,
Confidence to enter the holy places.
In the Old Testament, for pople to have any such confidence, they would have to enter the temple with a sin offering, and a lamb or a goat without blemish would have to be sacrificed.
In the Old Testament, the holy place was the temple, and to
The blood of the animal would serve as a sin offering, and the blood was said to be a covering for their sins.
But now, Jesus has shed His blood once and for all.
He gave up His body as a sacrifice, once and for all.
And because of that, we who believe in Him can have perfect confidence to enter the holy places, to be in God’s presence, to approach His throne of grace.
Because His blood has washed us clean and purified us from all guilt, we have absolutely full assurance that He will keep us until He returns for us, or calls us home.
This table is a picture and a reminder of these truths.
