Since the British TV series "Downton Abbey" is so popular, I thought it was helpful to use it to provide a explaination.
king's wardrobe. This means
Shullum, son of Tikvah, and husband to the prophet Huldah is keeper of the king's wardrobe. This means he has intimate access to Josiah. Likely Josiah would have known his wife as well. Shallum is basically the Kings valet, like Mr. Bates in Downton Abbey.

The importance of Ezekiel can hardly be overstressed. He is placed (assuming that the traditional understanding of his date is correct) at the great crisis point of Israel’s history, the exile. The question was, ‘Can the nation survive?’
It was a real enough question. Judah’s sister kingdom, Northern Israel, had faced a similar experience about a century and a half earlier, and had not survived. That Judah did survive is largely to the credit of the exilic prophets and the nation’s other religious leaders.
One form in which the question was put was, ‘Can God still be with us?’ Ezekiel was one of the people for whom this question was most acute. He seems to have represented the priestly, sacral traditions of Judah, for whom the presence of God in the temple was important, and for whom the system of festivals and sacrifices was the heart of religion. How could Judah sustain itself, and any vision of God, or any relationship with him, when deprived of its temple and driven out of the holy city and the holy land, to a place where, according to its own law, no sacrifices were allowable?
Henry McKeating, Ezekiel (Sheffield: Sheffield Academic Press, 1995), 11.
This appears to be an indication that Moses didn't stutter, but that he had lost his fluency with the Egyptian language.
It's easy to forget that the writers of the New Testament were living eyewitnesses to the life and teachings of Jesus. Their testimony is true and powerful.

I've noticed that as people are willing to compromise on one area of human sexuality it leads to compromise in others. Justifying living with you fiance isn't shocking when you've already justified homosexual practice.
I don't want to be the like the Pharisees. I also know that Bible does call us to judge behavior. Marriage isn't just some patriarchal hold over. God created it in the beginning.
When you reject the foundation...there is nothing left. No bounderies, no limits. In the end you have chaos, as Paul said "you are caused to believe a lie."
This is important, its the whole world.
When God arrives on the scene He always a disturbance. He rattles the status quo.
The Bible says God pours out His Spirit on all flesh, regardless of gender. Do we really think we can tell the Holy Spirit who to gift.
We are called to devote ourselves in the same way.
Ezra was devoted to the study and teaching of Scripture. This is an important characteristic.
Artaxerxes is displaying the ancient, and even pagan idea, that a deity was limited to a specific geographical region. Its a very small/limited view of God.
The issue with these marriages is that they are not believers in the God of Israel (the examples of Rahab and Ruth show that this is the reasons).
The concern they are bringing in the religious practices of the surrounding nations.
There are key leadership lesson from this prayer of Nehemiah, especially in contrast to modern-day celebrity pastors.
⇢ a godly leader admits and repents of his/her sins rather than just preach against the sins of the people.
Nehemiah was a leader who did not burden or lord it over people.
Even Jesus speaks in terms of a one flesh heterosexual union.
When we don't remember what God has done in the past it leads us to forget Him.
For something to be revealed it must already exist. The Sabbath had to be prior to God revealing it.
The Holy Spirit speaks through prophets.
