Actions speak louder then words
Personal intro.
Working with High School students.
When I was in High School Parents would pay a ton of money to get half pages printed in the year book.
I would always wonder if the parents were trying to compensate for something.
Maybe they had missed all their kids games and were trying to make up for it.
I think the same thing when i see one of those oversized bears.
That dude must have messed up big time!
I didn’t need my parents to have a huge print out of me on the yearbook to prove to me that they loved me.
I knew they did by their words and their actions.
My parents were at so many sports games drove me to so many event that I told them to not worry about missing the ones that were far away because they were always there.
You may have heard the phrase that “ actions speak louder then words” or “talk is cheap”.
This is true as far as words that aren’t backed up back actions.
This is true of my parents.
When they said they loved and cared for me it was backed up by actions.
The same is true for Jesus.
The bible says that Jesus demonstrated his own love for us that while we were still sinners Christ died for us.
This of course is the physical proof of His love toward us.
But Jesus didn’t just die for us he lived for us.
And not just for us but with us.
:14

Jesus came down
Jesus spoke a lot of truth but he Also spent a lot of time.
His actions connected perfectly with his words.
He spent time with the people.
He walked with them.
This is in stark contrast to the religious leaders who seemed to stand a far off from the people.
We are

I have learned a lot being the High School director.
It used to be that a church would throw a slick event and people would pour into the pews.
This worked for a while but it was never meant to be the singular way to transport the gospel of Jesus.

As i have been thinking about and praying about the High school ministry at our church I have come to relize that my goal as the High School director is not to build a strong stand alone Youth group but to help build a strong church where High Schoolers play a huge part.
